For the past six years I’ve trusted Lumix cameras to capture weddings and honestly, they’ve become such a huge part of the way I shoot.

This is the current setup I’m taking into wedding days:

A Cam – Lumix S1RII
B Cam – Lumix S1II
C & D Cams – S5II

The stabilisation alone has completely changed the way I shoot. No more dragging a gimbal around all day and the flexibility from open gate and pixel to pixel mode has honestly become a massive part of my workflow.

The S1RII’s pixel to pixel crop gives me multiple focal lengths from one lens which is ridiculously useful during fast moving wedding moments and the S1II’s 5.1K open gate at 50fps is probably one of the best features any wedding filmmaker could ask for right now.

Hey, I’m Danny 👋🏻

I’m a wedding filmmaker based in Scotland, creating films that feel like your day, not just something that looks good on Instagram.

For me it’s never been about perfect shots or turning your wedding into a production… it’s about the moments you didn’t even realise were happening. The laughs, the chaos, the people you love just being themselves.

Most of the time you’ll barely notice I’m there
other times I’m fixing buttonholes, grabbing drinks, or hyping you up like we’ve known each other for years

That’s kind of the whole thing.

I don’t just turn up and film your day, I become part of it
so when you watch it back, you don’t just see it… you feel it again

Outside of weddings, I’m a husband and a dad to three boys, which means life is full on, loud, and moves way too fast… probably why I care so much about capturing it all in the first place.

I know firsthand how quickly time moves and how easy it is for moments to slip by
that’s why filming your day means so much to me 🧡.

I tested the Hollyland Pyro 5 monitor in a real wedding filmmaking workflow and asked the big question… is this actually the best monitor for wedding filmmakers?

The standout feature for me is proxy recording straight to the monitor. I can pull the SD card from the Pyro 5, leave my camera cards alone, and start editing a teaser before I’ve even left the venue. That completely changes how fast we can deliver content.

In this video I focus only on the stuff that matters on a wedding day. Screen brightness, monitoring tools, wireless workflow and how this fits into my real shooting and editing setup.

This isn’t a studio spec review. It’s how I use the Pyro 5 on actual weddings and whether it genuinely improves my workflow.

Lorena & Adam 🧡

Fun fun fun from the get go this day was. Lorena’s vision completely brought to life . The decor was 🤌🏻. Lorena’s dad’s reaction was one of those moments that gets you right in the feels, and Lorena & Adam hopping on the quadbike to head off and visit the cows was iconic. Lorena absolutely loved it. 😂.

Vita & Billy 🧡.

Orkney has a kind of magic that never really leaves you. So being asked to return and capture Vita and Billy’s wedding felt pretty special.
What started as a mainland plan quickly turned into something far more personal. A celebration at home. Friends and family travelling from near and far, filling their space with love, laughter, and proper good energy. A marquee wedding surrounded by the people who matter most, in a place that means everything to them. Honestly, they couldn’t have chosen better.
Absolute cracker of a day and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it 🧡

Here is a small Super 8 snippet from Jordan and Jamie’s wedding. Shot on the Canon 310XL with Kodak 50D film stock. Every time I shoot on this camera it brings back the same feeling I had watching our own family films growing up.
Super 8 has a charm nothing else can match.

It is available as an add on and only a handful of filmmakers in Scotland offer it, which makes it even more special.🧡
