Beautiful Broomhill, one of Glasgow’s hidden gems.
I always enjoy walking through this area on my way to Victoria Park. These three images will hopefully show you why.
From the stunning blonde sandstone tenements and colourful lush gardens on Broomhill Terrace ,to the spectacular terraced villas just round the corner on Balshagray Drive

📸 Shadows & Spires on Shields Road

There’s nothing quite like the way the summer sun hits the historic sandstone of Pollokshields. I took a stroll down Shields Road recently when the sky was a brilliant, crisp blue, and the architecture was absolutely glowing.
From the grand, sweeping lines of the traditional terraces—perfectly framed by the vibrant purple hydrangeas—to the dramatic, soaring heights of the church spires, this corner of Glasgow’s Southside never fails to inspire.
It’s the beautiful contrast of our rugged, weathered stone heritage against the lush, bursting greens of summer that makes wandering these streets with a camera so rewarding.

Which view is your favourite?

Glasgow ……affectionately known as “The dear green place”
Here’s some proof, and not a park in sight 😃

Glasgow's name, Glaschu, means "Green Glen" in Gaelic. Glasgow began to grow around 550 CE, when St. Kentigern (St. Mungo) founded a religious community.(Brittanica .com)

10pm – 11pm on the River Clyde. 💙

It’s hard to beat the River Clyde when the water turns to glass.
These views were all captured during that peaceful hour between 10pm and 11pm, capturing the sunset glow shifting into twilight reflections.
Glasgow really puts on a show during these long summer evenings.

Isabella Elder- Rogue one’s spectacular new mural in Langlands Court ,just off Langlands Road ,across from Elder Park in Govan. Taken yesterday afternoon.

I also took a few images of the building in the background of the mural, which is the beautiful 1903 Elder Park Library, gifted to the people of Govan by Isabella and built by J J Burnet.

The last image shows Claremont Terrace where she lived for 36 years until her passing in 1905. Something I was completely unaware of, having walked past many times in the last few years.

An extraordinary woman that I couldn’t possibly summarise in my intro.

I’ve added two links in the comments should you want to find out more if you don’t already know of course.
