Looking North, South, East and West on the Squiggly Bridge at night.

It’s official name is the Tradeston Bridge, opened in 2009, it connects the Broomielaw (north bank) to Tradeston at Tradeston Street (south bank)
Designed by Dissing+Weitling, featuring a distinctive double-curve S-shape deck supported by angled steel arches and concrete piers.
The pronounced S-curve path across the water earned it the affectionate local moniker "Squiggly Bridge" almost immediately upon opening.
And to date, it’s still not had a traffic cone put on top of it 😄

As the debate rumbles on over the George Square redevelopment, let’s just look up for now.😄

By shifting the focus from the ground to the skies at George Square,you will be rewarded when you look up and on this particular day on Friday, I certainly was, with perfect blue skies ,standing amidst centuries of history, grand Victorian architecture, and the bronze figures that watch over the heart of the city .
Glasgow can be quite spectacular y’know ☺️

Scenes from a quite magical ,rainy afternoon spent with the beautiful squirrels of Kelvingrove Park earlier this week .

I’ve struck up quite a deal with the cutest wee gang in the west end.
I bring the treats, they agree to do the photoshoot 😄
It’s safe to say, we’re becoming the best of friends, so long as I bring the treats.

📍 George Square Transformation in Progress 🏗️📸

I took a look at the ongoing redevelopment works as George Square takes shape, with the first sections of the new public area opening this afternoon ! Glasgow City Council

1️⃣ City Chambers & Sir Walter Scott Monument — Looking across the active construction zone toward the grand Victorian council headquarters and the Sir Walter Scott column.
2️⃣ James Watt Statue — The seated bronze figure of James Watt overlooking the ongoing groundworks and site barriers.
3️⃣ Prince Albert Statue — Standing proud above the newly paved perimeter on the west side of the square.
4️⃣ The Merchants House (30 George Square) — The west side is officially open to the public! Featuring sleek new granite paving, fresh trees, and accessible outdoor seating areas right in front of the Grade A listed landmark.

September in Glasgow
These scenes from some beautiful locations in and around the city will give you a taste of things to come on my page in the next few weeks

From the spectacular Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum at sunset and the sandstone terraces and colourful hydrangeas on Shields Road to the timeless cobbles on Claremont Terrace Lane and the idyllic ponds and greenery in Alexandra Park before finishing with the modern lines and dramatic light at the new Govan to Partick Bridge over the River Clyde .

September in the 2026 Stu Art Glasgow Calendar.

This scene taken from through the ornate railings outside the University of Glasgow is the photo all owners of my calendar will have been greeted with when they said goodbye to August on Tuesday.

The Stu Art Glasgow 2027 Calendar is close to being unveiled and it will be ready to order by the end of the month.

Shhhhh say it quietly but it’s looking a bit Autumnesque in our parks in Glasgow right now .

Being more astronomically minded than meteorologically , to me it’s still summer, despite the autumnal weather.
However, my photos from this afternoon in rainy Kelvingrove Park, contradict my thoughts completely.

However, our city is famous for its dreich weather ,so here’s the proof.
From a fellow wildlife lover feeding my little squirrel friend, and people enjoying a walk in the rain, to iconic scenes of the University of Glasgow and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum before finishing with another park lover taking in the atmosphere of the day.
Was it raining? Yes
Did we care ? Of course not 😄

Lots of you asked if I could show you more photos from my day with this little group of beauties in Kelvingrove Park
So here are five more images including one wee guy on his hind legs checking me out before getting closer with a stretch up to see the bench before jumping right up beside me , then another from the other side, taking its treat from my leg and finishing with the most laid back of them all , eating his nut whilst doing its stretches on the tree 🐿️🥰🐿️
