Another creation from the make-up brush of the infinitely talented 🤯

For this shoot Jiovel turned into blue porcelain china come to life. I’m in awe of her talents and felt so honoured to be able to capture this look.

The colour theory nerd in me came out and I knew that a red background would really make the blue and white in the look pop ✨

THE PEARL QUEEN 🫧👸

This look was created from the brilliant imagination of . She is so incredibly talented at what she does, make sure you’re following her because I know she is going to go on to big things.

She created the pearl sculpture and the look was brought together using an airbrush to apply silver bodypaint to that was set using a gel and hairdryer to give the skin a matt gloss look. Jiovel also did the rest of Caitlin’s makeup to finish off the Pearl Queen aesthetic.

I wanted to use a teal backdrop for this to give it a feel that the Pearl Queen had just emerged from water 🌊And I also wanted to highlight the beautiful artistry in Jiovel’s work so I used two softboxes and constant lights to keep the attention focused on the makeup.

✨ SPECIAL COMMENDATION ✨

Not a win this time but I did get a special commendation from the judges in the Creative Arts category at last night’s Proud Scotland Awards™ 🏆

Very grateful to all of the judges who recognised me in this way. My photography work has always been about putting LGBTQ+ voices front and centre and telling the story of our community and I’m thrilled my work stood out to the judging panel.

This recognition is a huge motivator to keep telling the stories that matter and to keep documenting the lives, stories and people that are at the heart of them. A huge congratulations to all of the winners and nominees from last night!

The countdown is officially on! Tonight, I’m heading to the Radisson Blu in Glasgow for the Proud Scotland Awards 🏳️‍🌈

Being named a finalist for the Creative Arts Award is an incredible honour. My photography work has always been about capturing authentic LGBTQ+ stories and bringing visibility, inclusion and a whole lot of colour to every shot I take.

Win or lose, I am so incredibly proud to stand alongside the other amazing nominees who are working to give visibility to our community. Let’s do this! 🏳️‍🌈✨
