Who decided Back to School photos have to happen before school actually starts? šŸ‚šŸ“š

September might actually be my favourite time for them.

The brand-new uniforms have started to feel like their uniforms. The first-day nerves are settling. New routines are becoming normal. And outside, everything is slowly beginning to look like autumn.

Itā€™s such a lovely little chapter of childhood to capture.

So if the beginning of the school year disappeared somewhere between buying shoes, finding PE kits and getting everyone out of the door on timeā€¦ you havenā€™t missed it. ā¤ļø

My Back to School sessions are still running in Glasgow, and I have to admit ā€” I think a little bit of autumn suits them beautifully.

Maybe the world isn't ordinary at all. Maybe we just don't look closely enough. āœØ

The smile.ā€ØThe confidence.ā€ØThe excitement.ā€ØThe little things we think weā€™ll always remember.

Because one day, these photographs will remind us just how quickly this chapter passed. šŸ¤

I create it myself, piece by piece, and for just a few short weeks, I invite your children into the story. ā¤ļø

Before the cold really arrives. Before light dresses and little jumpers disappear underneath winter coats.

Because I donā€™t just want to take photographs.

**I want to tell a story in which your child gets to be the main character.**

And every year, thereā€™s only a very small window to tell this one. šŸ

Somewhere between the tall purple flowers and the sound of little feet disappearing down the path, there was a story.

No beginning. No ending. Just us, somewhere in the middle of it. šŸ’œ

And perhaps thatā€™s what I love most about photographs.

They let us keep a page from a story that otherwise just keeps moving.
