The start of the shinty was delayed on Saturday, so I got the chance to watch some of the Australian Rules Football between Glasgow Sharks Australian Rules Football Club and Glasgow Giants ARFC. The full album of photos is available in the comments - some are even in colour.

Final home match of the season for the Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club men's first team was last Saturday, with Balliemore Cup winners Kilmallie Shinty Club visiting Peterson Park. The visitors took the points following a 4:1 win.

Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club hosted league leaders Glen Urquhart Shinty Club at Yoker on Saturday in the MOWI National. Glen Urquhart took all the points, running out 6-1 winners on the day.

FIRST EVER WOMEN'S MATCH AT THE HEBCELT FESTIVAL

Last year, we kicked off our HebCelt Festival event with a very well-received women's come and try session and so this year we decided why not see if we can up the ante?

Introducing our first ever HebCelt women's match!

We want to play our part in growing the women's game and this gives us a chance to showcase it on a big stage!

The more women the merrier and we can provide all the necessary equipment! The game will start at 12:30pm on Saturday.

So if you've ever played shinty before or even if you haven't but want to get involved in the festivities, get in touch with the page. We would love to have you!

Lovat Shinty Club took all the points against Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club in the National Division clash in Yoker. Lots of positives from the GMA performance against a top side.

The oldest trophy in shinty was up for grabs yesterday, with Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club and Oban Camanachd facing off in the Scottish Sea Farms Glasgow Celtic Society Challenge Cup final at Peterson Park. GMA took an early lead over their Premiership opposition with a goal from Ross Brown, but Oban regained the momentum during an impressive first-half to go in 6-1 up at the break. Another two goals from Lewis Cameron in the second half saw Oban lift the trophy after an 8-1 victory.

Kinlochshiel Shinty Club booked their place in the quarter finals of the Camanachd Cup after a victory against Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club in Yoker. A resilient performance from GMA against Premiership competition wasn't enough, with Kinlochshiel winning the match 4:2.

A nice trip through to Edinburgh this weekend to see Camanachd Leòdhais progress to the next round of the Chieftan's Cup against Tayforth Camanachd. Lewis were 4:1 winners in the end after a closely contested match.
