Multiple horses. Many sets of reins. Countless split-second decisions.
The more I photograph the spectacle of Roman Riding, the more I'm drawn to the details, especially the rider's hands. While the horses naturally capture our attention, it's those hands that quietly coordinate the entire team, communicating through every rein, every adjustment, and every cue.
The skill required to guide four horses while maintaining balance, harmony, and control is extraordinary. These images capture not just the excitement of the performance, but the horsemanship behind it. The closer you look, the more remarkable it becomes.
