Thanks to Acoustic Amnesty 53two and Steven Lindsay for Friday's Acoustic Amnesty Goes Electric Party!

Great cause and a wonderful evening so well put together.

I've not done any photo work for over 12 months, I hadn't really planned to take any pics, didn't have the right gear with me and was a bit hungover to look me a couple of hours to get into it, but with those caveats firmly in place I really enjoyed the words, the music and shooting a little bit for fun. Photography is my mindfulness so it was all in all a rather splendid evening.

Huge thanks to the acts and organisers. Feels right to tag you, if you want to use pics please do. ALL the pics can be found linked in the comments in higher res. If for some reason you want a full file drop me a message and I'll sort it out. Likely better off messaging me directly James Darcey as facebook is horrible with pages these days.

Thanks to Rose Condo, Louise Exactly, David Viney, Chris Flynn, Dead Tenant, James Holt, The Awful Truth and Dr. Uke

ALL pics in the link below via flickr. I'll get that website working again one day!

Castillo de Colomares, Benalmádena, Málaga, Spain Castillo de Colomares / Ayuntamiento de Benalmádena

Castillo de Colomares, is a quirky monument in dedication to Christoper Columbus by Dr. D. Esteban. Despite its romantic look and nods to many historic traditional architectural styles, it's actually much later in origin than the rustic whitewash tiled villages and pueblos of the upper hills and even the mid-century dominance of modernism and practical concrete flats of the region. Slightly bonkers, but nonetheless a striking tribute in its own way, worth the 3 euros a head for an hour of whimsy.

This is easily my favourite image from that day. A grab shot from the less-visited rear of the monument below the bustle of the grassy lawn and the numbered tourist trails filled with tempting insta grab shots, that bit further away you get this charming view back up to the main entrance.

Gasometer - Gasholder

Known in Stockport as a Gasometer, refered to do down south apparently as a Gasholder. I guess thats more descriptive of what they are. I was very pleased to see them being included in developments. Northern developers and councils should take note. Sadly I am old enough to remember them actually being used and being fascinated by the simplicity yet the ridiculous side of the things.

The Coal Drops Yard - Kings Cross

A high-end mix of retail, bars and shops. Surprisingly quiet when I ventured. Moody changing sky's again Another slow shutter, wide-angle shot. Recovered the sky and boosted the rest. I didn't even notice the two sheds meeting until after this was taken. An enjoyable 30mins wandering around.

The Coal Office - Kings Cross

Dripping with gentrification just down from the St. Pancras Basin. A dull sky recovered with a black and white edit. A pleasant spot to waste 15 mins enjoying the barges and a relative slow pace for the area.

Not too far from yesterdays posting. Just over the road in St. Pancras. Shot super wide to really draw the eye up past the clock and into the roof. 12/09/21

2 years since I last posted. It's been a weird two years at that. But after much self-reflection and working on carving out some time for myself I am going to get back into posting. I've got nearly 3 years' worth of images stuck on my computer. All needs going over and sorting out.

Hope to see you all more. For now here is a few from Kings Cross Station 12/09/21.

Hello again. It's been a while hasn't it.

Please forgive me for largely talking to myself here, if you are already here, then great! Thanks for sticking around.

The last 2 years have been rough. Like really really rough. Creatively it's been a black hole, and for my photo shooting business that this page was set up to facilitate, well that's gone. With football matches off the cards, some actions by a few back in December 2019 meant I was cut off from the basketball scene in Manchester and also the general lack of events due to the 'C-word, I have closed down any formal paid work done by my self.

In the last 2 months, I've sold the specialist gear that I so lovingly curated over the last 5 years, to slim down and buckle up and get back to shooting. You see I worked the whole pandemic making sure the beery side of my life was going to survive, sacrificed a lot of myself, I'd like to get back to something I enjoy for me. To help my own mental health, create something for me and share it.

So here begins a hopeful return to posting images, tagging and being creative. I've got 3+ years' worth of archive images that I need to edit and post as well so expect a good flurry of images coming out.

I've thought to myself, why shoot if I am not going to share the images? So here we go!
