fans It’s Toyota Tuesday once again, don’t the weeks just fly by!

The RCMODELEX DAB truggy in all its glory, looks fantastic but it seemed to break at every hurdle 😭 Upgrades on the way 😉

A little something for any drifters out there too 🫠

Happy Tuesday!

LETS SEE YOUR YOTAS!!! 👇🏻

The camel trophy Land Rover defender 90 built on a RC4WD GELANDEII … This is a lot steeper than it looks but love the skinny Tyres on this thing

Stepped away from the crawler trails for a change and I headed down to ScaleDrift on Friday night and spent the evening photographing some RC drift cars. Definitely a different challenge compared to trucks on the rocks, but the attention to detail on some of these builds was incredible.

Let me know in the comments if you want to see more RC Drifting. Also let me know if I’ve photographed your car 👍🏻👍🏻

Managed an hour or so with the RCMODELEX DAB truggy at the SST quarry last weekend. This truck fought me all the way…..

Broke a driveshaft, had the gearbox rubbing on the underside of the interior so it was as noisy as could be and then the receiver decided it needed binding… it’s like it didn’t want to be used 🤣

I had a couple of messages asking how I managed to lower the front of the truck so much. The part of the Panhard mount that mounts to the axle side is quite long and I had to cut the end off and drill and tap a new hole for the 3mm bolt as it fouled the chassis rail.

The yellow arrow points to roughly where I drilled and tap the hole. I probably only cut 5 / 6 mm of the end of it, but it makes a massive difference to the stance.

Some of the finer details on the front end, it has proved quite difficult to get this bumper in the right spot to make it look good or at least a more flush fit.

As a result, it leaves absolutely no space for a motor at the front and I wanted to maintain the 22RE engine bay that I had done for it. Thank heavens for the Hobbywing Technology 3530SL OutRunner being so short, really helps when you have tight tolerances.

I wasn’t happy with the standard shock hoops. They are incredibly limiting, RC4WD do make some upgraded parts but they don’t push the shock tower back at the top which allows for better articulation. Thanks Matty Willsher for the shock towers, these transform the suspension at the front. 👍🏻👍🏻
