What an ace day in Albion Street Studios with my mate Photography by Ellen

We’ve been working on the classic Rembrandt style in black and white portraits.
For those who like a little bit of history, Rembrandt was a Dutch painter born in 1606, and he became famous for the way he used light and shadow in his portraits. His paintings had real mood, depth and character and that style still influences photography today.

In photography, Rembrandt lighting is where you create that little triangle of light on the cheek. It’s one of those classic techniques that has stood the test of time because it just works.
No fancy nonsense. Just good light, good shadows and a strong portrait.
It’s been brilliant creating with Ellen, having a laugh, testing ideas and sharpening the tools.

You never stop learning in this game and days like this are exactly why I love what I do.

Proud moment for me and the business.

I’m now an official sponsor of Halifax Panthers Women and I’m absolutely chuffed to be involved.

This is about supporting the women’s game right here in Halifax. It’s about backing local players, local sport, and the people working hard to grow something brilliant in our town.

Women’s rugby league deserves more visibility, more support and more people getting behind it. So I’m proud to play a small part in helping Halifax Panthers Women keep building.

Massive respect to the players, coaches, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to supporting the team this season.

Proud to back the women’s game.
Proud to back Halifax.
Proud to back the Panthers Women.

Swanky headshots in a superb spot in Leeds, a bit of networking, and Thai food after… win win or what? 👌

That’s exactly what we’ve got lined up for the June Content Club Leeds at Chaophraya.

A relaxed morning for business owners who want to:
📸 get fresh headshots and brand photos
🤝 meet other good local business owners
✨ create content in a stunning venue
🍜 stay on after for lunch and carry on networking

If your current photos are a bit tired, or you’ve been meaning to create better content for your business, this is a cracking chance to do both in one go.

The interiors at Chaophraya are absolutely superb, so the setting does a lot of the hard work for you. It’s ideal for polished, natural content that helps your business look more professional online.

Love seeing this come to life. Massive respect to everyone involved in The Last Hike a huge amount of hard work, passion and belief has gone into getting the film to this stage.

Principal photography is done, but as we all know, the real magic keeps going long after the cameras stop rolling. Post-production is where it all gets stitched together and brought properly to life.

If you can support the next stage of the journey, now’s the time. Every contribution helps push this film closer to the finish line and out into the world where it belongs.

Get behind it, share it, back it, and let’s help this brilliant project reach the audience it deserves.

Proud to have played a small part with the photography along the way. Big thanks to the team for having me involved.

What a brilliant morning at Content Club today at Holdsworth House.

A huge thank you to the team at Holdsworth House Hotel and Restaurant for their amazing hospitality. The place looked incredible and was the perfect backdrop for creating some cracking content.

But as always, what really makes Content Club is the people.

Seeing business owners support each other, help with props, step into each other’s photos, share ideas, have a laugh, and genuinely want the best for one another is what makes this so special.

It’s not just about getting nice pictures.
It’s about building confidence.
Making connections.
Supporting other businesses.
And creating content in an environment that feels relaxed, positive and full of energy.

That spirit of togetherness was all over today, and the video says it all.

To everyone who came along today, thank you. You made it what it was.

And if you’ve been thinking about joining us for a future Content Club, get yourself booked on.
It’s a fantastic way to build your image bank, meet brilliant people, and be part of something genuinely supportive.

Message me for details on the next one.

People eat with their eyes first.

I’ve been photographing the breakfast menu at True North, Dean Clough creating images that make customers stop scrolling and start thinking, “I need that.”

This is why professional food photography matters.
Better images = more attention, more trust, and more people through the door.

Phone photos might do a job…
but strong food photography sells the experience.

International Women’s Day.

Today is about recognising the incredible women around us in business, in family life, and in the everyday moments that often go unseen.

I see it in my wife, in my daughter, and in the many brilliant women I’ve had the pleasure of working with through brand photography.

So many women in business are absolute powerhouses leading, creating, building, juggling and showing up every day and yet many still have to work twice as hard to be properly seen, heard and valued.

That needs to change.

Visibility matters. Recognition matters. Support matters.

So to the men reading this take a moment today to recognise the amazing women you work with. Back them, champion them, and give them the credit they deserve.

Here’s to the women making a real difference every single day.

Happy International Women’s Day.
