UNPOPULAR WEDDING OPINION 👀

You don't need to disappear for two hours on your wedding day to get beautiful photos. In fact, I'd argue that some of the best moments happen when you're not being photographed at all.

The hugs. The laughter. The chats at the bar. The terrible dance moves. The moments with grandparents, friends and family that you'll never get back.

Of course we'll create some gorgeous photos of the two of you. But it doesn't need to take half your wedding day. I'd much rather steal you away for 15-20 minutes, create some magic, and then send you straight back to the people you chose to celebrate with.

Because your wedding isn't a photoshoot. It's a day full of memories. And that's what I want you to remember most.

A little bit of sunshine, a little bit of rain, and a whole lot of love. ☀️☔️

Ashlea & Josh's wedding at Hyde House was one of those days that reminded everyone that the weather really doesn't matter when you're surrounded by your favourite people.

One minute we were soaking up the Cotswold sunshine, the next we were making a dash for cover from the rain. But honestly? It just became part of the story.

Ashlea looked incredible in her Sassi Holford dress, carrying the most beautifully romantic flowers, whilst Josh spent most of the day smiling from ear to ear. Add in happy tears, belly laughs, questionable dance moves and a room full of people who clearly adored them, and you've got all the ingredients for a pretty perfect wedding day.

Because at the end of it all, the things you'll remember aren't whether it rained for 20 minutes or if everything went exactly to plan. It's how it felt.

And this day felt pretty special. 🤍

Photographer confession...

The photos couples end up loving most are rarely the ones they expected. It's usually not the perfectly posed portrait. It's the hug from a grandparent. The look from across the room. The laugh that lasted half a second. The moment they didn't even realise happened. That's why I spend so much of a wedding day watching rather than directing. The magic usually happens when nobody's trying to create it ❤️

A question for the married couples...

What's the one thing from your wedding day that you wish you could relive for just five minutes?

Not necessarily the biggest moment. Maybe it was the morning excitement. A quiet moment together before everyone arrived. The speeches. The dance floor. That first hug from someone special.

After photographing weddings for over 10 years, I've realised it's rarely the things couples spent months planning that they talk about most afterwards.

Somewhere along the way, weddings became about getting every little detail "right". But after photographing weddings for over 10 years, I've noticed something...

Nobody talks about the napkins. Nobody talks about the chair covers. Nobody talks about whether the menus matched the flowers. What they do talk about is how they felt. The tears during the speeches. The way their grandparents looked at them. That friend who had everyone crying with laughter. The dance floor chaos. The people. The memories. The moments they didn't realise would matter until they were gone.

You don’t need to spend your wedding day posing for 500 photos. You spent all this money bringing your favourite people together…

Go be with them. I’ll be over here catching the bits you didn’t even realise happened 🤍

Yesterday I had the best time bringing this styled shoot to life at Cranford Hall, Kettering 🤍

Romantic vibes, beautiful florals, dreamy drapes, elegant caterpillar tables and the most amazing team of suppliers making the magic happen. It was such a fun day and so special to showcase just how stunning Cranford Hall can be as a wedding venue.
