🌿Another sneak peek into the Palmhouse 🌿

The horticulture team responsible for planting the Palmhouse have done a phenomenal job, creating the most spectacular combination of palms and ferns in hundreds of shades of green. 🌴🌿

I don’t want to give the game away…..but here is a look at some of the incredible colours, textures and layers coming together.

Trust me, you’ll want to see the full picture. 👀💚

🦋 Butterfly vs Bee — who wins? 🐝

This Painted Lady butterfly was having absolutely none of it when a little bee tried to muscle in and share the nectar on this stunning Dahlia ‘Moonfire’. 😂

A little garden showdown unfolded right in front of me — and the butterfly certainly wasn’t giving up its prime feeding spot without a fight!

So… who do you think won? 🦋⚔️🐝

✨ A magical garden encounter! 🦋🌸

While visiting Logan Botanic Garden last week, I was lucky enough to capture this beautiful hummingbird hawk moth hovering among the delicate flowers of Abelia engleriana.

It was one of those fleeting moments in nature that makes you stop, watch, and appreciate just how incredible the natural world is. 💚

Have you ever spotted a hummingbird hawk moth in your garden or out in the wild? 🌿

Last week I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek inside the Palmhouse at RBGE ahead of its grand opening. 🌿✨

It’s all systems go with the final planning, planting and primping, and it’s wonderful to see this beautifully restored building being brought back to life. 🌸🏛️

The official opening date is 2nd October 2026 — definitely one to put in your diary!

It’s going to be a must-see! 💚

You never quite know where an image is going to end up once you share it online.

I’ve just discovered that it appears that someone has used an image I shared on Facebook of Stuart Liddell from Inveraray pipe band as the basis for a T-shirt design.

And now I’m wondering… should I be flattered or annoyed? 😂

He has created his own design from the image, so it raises an interesting question: where does inspiration end and copyright infringement begin?

As photographers and creatives, we share our work because we want people to see it — but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re giving permission for it to be reproduced, adapted or turned into something commercial.

I’m genuinely interested in what people think. 🤔

Here are a few of my favourite photographs of PLHS Pipe Band warming up, tuning up and competing at the Bridge of Allan Highland Games last weekend. 🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

All three bands competed, and two of them brought home a trophy — making it a hugely successful day for PLHS Pipe Band! 🏆👏

A fantastic effort from everyone involved, and a pleasure to capture some of the day along the way. 📸

✨ The beauty of macro! ✨

I photographed this Hydrangea sargentiana and instantly knew I had captured something special — beautiful, dreamy macro flower shots. 🌸

I couldn’t wait to get back to the studio, download the images and start working on them in Photoshop, perfecting the details and bringing the dreamy feeling I had envisioned to life.
