Mother Strong Tail having a nap yet keeping one eye open, as you do. Fun little visit with a great friend willing to pose quickly as you request despite many onlookers 🄰.

Another 24 hrs of snow in NC. Stayed at my friends house nestled in a forest and was able to scavenge for parts in nature to create this lovely fellow. I love this little guy but no name came to mind. What would you name him?

We didn’t get much snow this weekend but the little we got made things pretty for a day.

Winter walks on my friend’s land uncovers a treasure. Not sure what my fascination is with deer skulls with the antlers. This is now my second found deer skull. Google had this to say about them :ā€Deer skulls carry deep spiritual meanings across cultures, symbolizing connections to nature, renewal, and transformation. They represent qualities like gentleness, sensitivity, and grace, encouraging empathy and personal growth.ā€

First introduction to Kya. The only kitten from one of the feral litters at my mom’s house that I could not find a home for. At 5 months she’s doing pretty good going on walks. I’m also trying to teach her how to get down a tree the way she went up it to avoid her ever getting stuck up a tree.

By the time my plane takes off at 7:20 am I’ll have gone 24 hours without sleep. I’m having flashbacks of heading into basic training. Lots of travel, lots of sitting and waiting esp. when someone forgot to ā€œputā€ us to bed. That was rough. Planes, trains and auto buses šŸ™ƒ. The ground feels like its moving like an earthquake or being on a boat. Please let me sleep on the plane without my head falling down and jerking me awake. šŸ™šŸ»

When the weather allows I go to a little park to go have my lunch on work days. I sit on a bench and let the sun warm me. If I’m lucky the brave squirrels find me and I can feed them right from my hand. This first squirrel with the whole container was willing to eat from my had but was just a little too clumsy and I didn’t trust him to nosh my finger by accident. Loved watching him pick up the container and try to lick out the nuts rather than use a paw to grab one out. 🤪 As for the second squirrel, what is more Cornish than a seagull skulking in the background trying to steal.

When the clouds and weather allow it Cornish winter sunrises are stunning. And what better timing and placement for a photo bombs for our sky rats šŸ¤—. They sound obnoxious and are down right bullies when it comes to food but they have a fairly amazing grasp on aeronautics.

They may not happen often but a windless sunrise over the sea on a winter morning is good for the soul.
