One of the questions I’m asked most is what to wear for a family session. The best outfits are always comfortable, coordinated and true to your family’s personality — soft colours and neutral tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection together.

People often imagine newborn sessions are quick and simple, but after more than 15 years photographing babies, I know every little one is completely different. Some sleep peacefully from the moment they arrive, while others need extra cuddles, feeding breaks or time to settle into their own rhythm — and that is absolutely okay.

My sessions are always baby-led, calm and gentle. I’ve spent years learning how to safely soothe, pose and handle newborns with patience and care, so parents can relax knowing their little one is in experienced hands throughout the session.

The beautiful sleepy images everyone loves usually happen in the quiet in-between moments — after the feeding, the rocking, the soft shushing and the cuddles. That’s the part I truly love, creating a relaxed space where your baby feels safe, comfortable and completely cared for while I capture these tiny first memories for you forever.

Ever wonder how maternity portraits capture that dreamy, glowing look? It’s a mix of light, movement, and comfort.

I guide you through gentle poses that feel natural, not stiff. No contorting into impossible positions here! The goal is to highlight your belly, your curves, and that undeniable pregnancy glow without making it feel forced.

Many parents ask me, ‘Do I need to prepare anything for a newborn session?’ The answer is yes and no.

You don’t need fancy outfits or endless props, but there are a few little things that make a huge difference. Keep your baby well-fed and rested before the session, bring extra nappies, and have a cosy spot for feeding.

Soft, neutral clothing for parents works best, and if you have heirloom blankets or family pieces, we can include those for a personal touch. Little details like this help your session flow smoothly and make the images feel timeless rather than staged. Preparation isn’t about perfection; it's about creating a calm, safe space where your baby can truly shine.

From growing bumps to tiny newborn fingers, from sleepy cuddles to the beautiful chaos of new family life, I feel so privileged to freeze these fleeting moments in time.

What’s actually happening behind the camera: me crouched like a goblin, laying flat on the floor, leaning backwards at questionable angles and risking my knees for the shot 😂📸

Honestly, half of photography is talent… the other half is core strength and hoping nobody walks in while I’m folded into a weird position trying to get the perfect angle.

Anything for the pic though 🤷🏼‍♀️✨

One of the reasons I love my job so much is because no two days are ever the same. I get to meet so many amazing people, hear their stories, and capture such important stages of their lives — from growing families, to confidence journeys, to special milestones they never want to forget.

Photography is so much more than just taking pictures for me. It’s the conversations, the laughs during the shoot, helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera, and then seeing their reaction when they finally see their images. That moment of joy will honestly never get old. 🤍

I feel really lucky to do something creative that connects me with so many different people every single week.
