Beacons of the Northumberland Coast 💡

The Northumberland Coast is home to some incredible lighthouses, dating back as far as the early 1800s with a rich history which is well worth digging into.

These are some shots from a long term project on lighthouses and way markers along the Northumberland Coast, with this pano shot that includes all the lighthouses of the Farne Islands in one frame a favourite of mine.

Brown Hare 🐇

Often mistaken for rabbits, Brown Hares are leaner and larger with longer legs and ears. They're widely distributed throughout Great Britain and are typically found in open agricultural habitats where they are most active at night, but can be seen during dawn and dusk hours.

This handsome fellow wasn't too active as I observed him, but was happy to pose a few times before I backed away and left him to it.
