In the heat, the alpacas 🦙🦙🦙have been making full use of the hosepipe

Look 😍 who's hatched out in this heat! It's a baby pea chick 🐣.
Peahen eggs take 28 days to incubate and then the chicks 🐥 hatch themselves whilst mum protects and keeps them warm. The last few days there's been no problem doing that !

These chicks need a very high protein diet for correct development and have been enjoying crushed mealy worms 🪱 and mashed boiled eggs 🥚🥚.
That's certainly been keeping us busy 🤣

Meet our new black shouldered peacock.
Black shouldered peafowl are not as common as the usual Indian blue peafowl.
Here he is inside the peacock cabin meeting his new friends. They will hopefully soon establish a 'pecking order'!
Would anyone like to suggest a name for this beautiful boy?

Two of our ponies 🐎🐎 were at Helmshore and Haslingden Baptist Summer Fair this weekend🎪.
It was very busy and
both ponies worked hard in the heat 🌞 and were glad to have respite in the shade of trees 🌳 in the beautiful St Veronicas garden ⚘️🌷🥀 .
They completed about 50 pony rides between them and were as well behaved as ever even though they were surounded by noise, paddling pools, hundreds of people. They got well deserved treats when we got home!

The church meets at St Veronicas every Sunday at 10.45 am for their normal routine service. All are very welcome.

This young man came to the farm dressed for the job wearing his very special farm sheepy tractor outfit! 🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
After trying out the real thing , even exploring the muck cart, he went on to bottle feed the lambs
🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑




Please note that lamb bottle 🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼 feeding will continue for another couple of weeks after which our lambs will be weaned.If you don't want to miss out please visit us fairly soon! Available after lunch.
