Rock the DJ! Different setting, same focus - keeping things relaxed and getting it just right.
From behind the camera, you can always tell when a DJ really has it. It’s in the way they move, how locked-in they are, how the crowd mirrors them without thinking about it. Lights flash, smoke drifts, hands go up, and for a few seconds everything lines up. Those are the moments I’m waiting for.
A great DJ gives you more than a clean shot. They give you energy, tension, release. The glance over the decks, the build before the drop, the reaction when it lands. That’s what makes the photos work. You’re not just capturing someone playing music, you’re freezing the connection between the DJ and the crowd. Long after the set’s over, that’s what people remember when they look back.
