'African White-backed Vulture'

The White-backed Vulture is an old world vulture. They are very large birds with a wing span of up to 2.25meters (7ft 5") and feed on carrion. They are an essential part of our eco-system as they clear rotting carcasses, preventing the spread of disease.

They are currently classified as Critically Endangered on the IUCN list.

Taken at Khama Rhino Sanctuary in Botswana.
