South Stack Lighthouse 🏞️🌊

Perched dramatically on the cliffs of Holy Island, Anglesey, South Stack Lighthouse has been guiding ships through these treacherous waters since 1809.

Standing on its own rocky island, the lighthouse is surrounded by some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Wales — towering sea cliffs, crashing waves and views stretching far across the Irish Sea.

From the ground it’s impressive… but from the air you really get a sense of just how wild and isolated this incredible corner of Ynys Môn is.

🔴⚪️🟢 Melin Llynon – Ynys Môn

A little bit of colour on one of Wales’ most iconic landmarks! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Built in 1775–76, Melin Llynon is the only working traditional windmill left in Wales. In 2026, it was given a very special makeover, painted in the famous red, white and green of Mr Urdd to celebrate Eisteddfod yr Urdd’s return to Ynys Môn. (Isle of Anglesey County Council⁠)

The colours were originally only meant to stay for the Eisteddfod, but they proved so popular that calls were made for the mill to keep its new look. After the request was turned down and it was said the mill would have to return to white, support grew for keeping the colours. (Nation.Cymru⁠)

And looking at it from the air… you can see why!

Just a heads up for anyone still using Drone Assist also.

It’s not really kept up to date anymore.

I’ve switched away from it as it can be missing or showing outdated airspace info.

Worth checking TheDroneMap and the official NOTAMs instead before you fly.

If you are looking for drone footage use someone who’s done extensive research, keeps up to date and registered with the CAA.

‘Moel Famau’ not ‘Liverpool Mountain’ as we’ve seen in the media recently 😬

The highest hill in the Clwydian Range, standing at 554 metres (1,818 ft). Its history stretches back thousands of years, with nearby Iron Age hillforts showing the area was strategically important over 2,500 years ago.

The hill is best known for the remains of the Jubilee Tower, built in 1810 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of King George III. The ambitious Egyptian-style monument was never completed because funding ran out, and much of it collapsed during a violent storm in 1862. Today, its impressive base remains one of North Wales’ most recognisable landmarks.
