I get asked quite a lot if dogs can come along to newborn sessions, and the answer is YES!

Your dog has probably been your baby before the baby arrived, so why wouldn’t we include them? 🥰

We can get some gorgeous photos of your new little one with their very first best friend, as well as photos of you all together.

Of course, baby’s safety always comes first, and I’ll work around your dog’s personality and how comfortable they are. There’s absolutely no pressure if they’re a little excitable!

And if they only manage a few seconds of sitting nicely for a photo… that’s fine too 😂 Those are often the photos that tell the real story.

So if your family has four legs as well as two, bring them along! 🐾

Worried your baby won't sleep through their newborn photoshoot? Don't be! 🤍

This is one of the things parents worry about most before their session.

But here's the thing… your baby is in charge. 👶🏻

My newborn sessions are around 2 hours, so there is plenty of time to feed, cuddle, change, settle and soothe your little one.

There is absolutely no rushing.

If baby needs a feed… we feed.

If baby needs a cuddle… we cuddle.

If baby decides they need a little cry… that's OK too.

We just take our time and work around them.

The session is baby-led, relaxed and calm, and I want you to feel relaxed too. Some of my favourite images happen in those little in-between moments — tiny fingers, sleepy faces, cuddles with Mum and Dad and all those little details that you'll miss when they're suddenly not so tiny anymore. 🤍

You don't need a perfectly sleepy baby. You don't need to know what to do.

That's my job. 😊

You just bring your baby, some milk, nappies and yourselves — and I'll take care of the rest.

Expecting a baby? When should you book your newborn photoshoot? 👶🏻🤍

The best time to get your newborn session booked is during your third trimester.

You don't need to know exactly when your baby is going to arrive (because let's face it… babies don't always stick to the plan! 😂).

I simply take a small deposit to secure your place in my diary around your due date.

Then, once your little one arrives, just get in touch with me as soon as you can and we'll arrange your actual session date.

I recommend doing your newborn session within those first couple of weeks, when your baby is still so tiny, sleepy and naturally curled up.

And please don't worry if things don't go exactly to plan. Babies arrive early, late, and sometimes life gets in the way. Just keep me updated and we'll work around you and your baby. ❤️

That tiny newborn stage really does disappear SO quickly.

Little Theodora has been coming to the studio since she was a tiny newborn, so it was extra special to have her back last week, this time with her brand new baby brother Wilfie. 🤍

They were both absolute stars and did so well throughout the whole session, letting us get lots of lovely photos.

It’s so lovely watching little ones grow and then getting to photograph them again as big brothers and sisters. ❤️

They’re only this tiny once… 🤍

Those tiny fingers.

The little toes.

The wrinkly feet.

The sleepy faces.

The way they curl up into you.

It honestly goes SO quickly.

One minute you're holding this tiny little newborn who seems to fit perfectly in your arms, and before you know it they're filling their sleepsuit, looking around at the world and changing every single day.

That's why I love newborn photography.

It's not just about getting a pretty picture.

It's about giving you something to look back on and remember just how tiny they really were.

Because trust me… you won't remember all those little details forever.

But your photographs will. 🤍

✨ Lana & Curtis ✨

These two had the loveliest day celebrating their love at The Woodman Inn last week ❤️

They said “I do” under the canopy of the trees on a beautiful sunny August day, surrounded by all their favourite people. It was one of those days where everything just felt so relaxed, happy and full of love.

There was plenty of fun and entertainment too, with the amazing keeping everyone entertained, followed by the brilliant 🎶

A gorgeous couple, a beautiful setting and a day packed with laughter, happy tears and lots of love — what more could you ask for? 🥂❤️

A little reminder for anyone expecting… 🤍

Don't wait until your baby arrives to start thinking about newborn photos.

Book during your third trimester and it's one less thing to think about.

Then when baby arrives, you can concentrate on the important stuff…

cuddles, feeding, sleeping (when you can!) and getting to know your new little person.
