Another photo of the majestic Chatsworth House from a recent visit to Derbyshire. Whilst having to dodge the showers during the day it did make for fantastic shots of the ever changing skies.

The Grotto in the gardens of Chatsworth House was originally constructed in the late 1790s at the instigation of Duchess Georgiana, but was much altered by the 6th Duke in the 1820s. The Grotto is built of massive boulders and contains a rectangular room decorated with stalactites, this is surmounted by a rustic timber bandstand with a conical slate roof. The Grotto Pond was probably constructed around 1700.

Fantastic to join Cambridge City Football Club on Friday evening as the club held a Sportsman's Dinner at Cotto Cambridge Country Club. Commercial partners and supporters alike were able to come together and hear about Steve Claridge's long and varied footballing career.

Special mention to Herbies BAKES for their amazing sweet treats!!

5️⃣ years ago today!

Sat out on the airfield at RAF Coningsby on a gorgeous January day supporting the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Official) multi-engine crews with their pre-season training and workup. Here the Dakota (ZA947 - Kwicherbichen).

The Flight’s Dakota conducted paradropping operations on the eve of D-Day, plus missions to evacuate casualties and re-supply forces. She is displayed on her own and in BBMF formations, and also used for training pilots and aircrew for the Flight’s Lancaster.

So one of my guilty pleasures is train photography (yes I’m a nerd)! This morning I was up early to snap a rail tour from Norwich to York, despite a dark start the sunrise made an appearance at the perfect time.

LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 44871 operating 1Z82, the 0602 Norwich to York passing Ramsey Road LC, Whittlesey.

Who doesn’t love a trip to London, I know I certainly do! Once the sun went down I was able to practice some long exposure photography down by the River Thames.

Initially I thought the photograph of the London Eye was ruined by a departure from Heathrow flying through whilst the shutter was open, but on review I thought it looked pretty cool!

The Mathematical Bridge at Queens’ College in Cambridge was designed in 1748 by William Etheridge and was built in 1749 by James Essex the Younger. It has subsequently been repaired in 1866 and rebuilt to the same design in 1905.

The red-brick building seen in the photograph is the riverside building (ca. 1460), the oldest building on the river at Cambridge, containing parts of the President’s Lodge.
