Walking Photographer Updates, News and Photos from the Walking Photographer

I have been obsessed with photography since the age of 6, when I received my first camera through the Avon catalogue. Since then I have worked in the commercial photography world for clients such as Coca Cola and M&S, before deciding to launch Walking Photography in 2013. It allowed me to spend more time outdoors with my camera, inspiring everyone from beginners to experienced photographers - youn

g and old - to get the most out of their photography. My work has been featured in the Yorkshire Post and Outdoor Photography Magazine, as well as in a host of national newspapers and international wildlife magazines too. I was honoured to be a category winner in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2019 and I have also been highly commended in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Awards. In addition, I was nominated in both the prestigious International Print Awards from the Royal Photographic Society and the International Garden Photographer of the Year Award.

Really excited to be heading back to Malham for the Wildlife Golden Hour Photo Walk next week. Every visit is always magical and I love sharing some of my favourite corners to watch the exciting wildlife that breeds and feeds here.

Here's a few photos from last year's walk.

If you'd like to join us as and learn more about creating better wildlife and nature photos you can grab a ticket (2 spaces left at present) on the walking.photography site here - https://walking.photography/photo-walks-workshops/p/wildlife-photography-workshops

Look who’s getting ready to brave the outside world! Amazing to grab some footage of a Great Spotted Woodpecker feeding her youngster and gently encouraging it to finally leave the nest.

This hardworking parent is a female because she lacks the distinctive red patch on the back of her neck (the nape). Adult males proudly sport that red patch, while adult females have a sleek, solid black crown and nape.

A Hare-y encounter on the moors.

It’s always thrilling to see hares, I never really set out photograph them (yet), but they’re always a joy to try and capture in the lens.
