| Somewhere I have wanted to visit for longer than I can remember, the incredible .

Sadly it was very much a flying visit so I’ll definitely be back at some point.

Just Puffin my chest out…

Finally made it back to the Farne Islands and they didn’t disappoint. So much wildlife to see but as ever, these little guys were the stars of the show. Each year the Islands become home to around 90,000 of these beautiful birds.

Thanks to for a great trip.

| Recently I was lucky enough to spend a week up on the west coast of Scotland with all the family. Had some incredible weather and the first night kicked off with this beautiful sunset.

| Almost certainly the most photographed tree in the country. So I figured I’d do my bit to keep it that way.

And it definitely goes down as one of the most relaxing spots I’ve been to.

The shot was taken in the very early hours with the moon setting behind the tree to give a nice glow.

| A lovely week away but sadly not the best weather for the majority of it.

So here’s my favourite of the cloudy sunsets over Elie Ness Lighthouse… Despite the lack of colour it was still a great spot to sit and relax a little.

The lighthouse was restored in 2010 and is maintained by the Elie Ness Historical Society.

| Loving the sunshower effect at sunset last night.

Took a little evening wander out to the dunes at St Andrews’ West Sands. This peaceful spot over looking the River Eden is the perfect place to watch the sun dip below the horizon, with just the calming sound of waves to keep you company.

The weather over the past week has been pants so keeping everything crossed for nicer days for the rest of the time here.

| The beautiful Bamburgh Castle in all her glory during an unexpectedly colourful sunrise.

It’s always very satisfying being in the right place at the right time. Something I always seem to struggle with when it comes to sunrise and sunset. Almost always my own doing too, which usually makes it even more frustrating. So I was very thankful to actually have the camera to hand during an impromptu pitstop as I passed this magnificent castle and the sky lit up.

Recently I have taken to using Skyfire in the app The Photographer's Ephemeris*. It gives colour predictions for sunrise and sunset, with the main app providing a whole host of other useful data to help plan your shots. Skyfire isn’t always accurate but getting a push in the right direction is sometimes exactly what you need for a little extra dawn adventure motivation.

*Not sponsored, just an app paid for by me that I really enjoy using.

| The Last Kingdom’s Bebbanburg.

There are few places in Northumberland as beautiful as , especially when it comes to spending peaceful mornings watching the sun start to illuminate this magnificent fortress.

Had to set the alarm for 4:30am to get these; a little painful at the time but so worth it for the walk along this picturesque coastline.
