📍Woodbridge Golf Club, Suffolk.

Woodbridge Golf Club is located a mere 5 minutes away from the beautiful market town, with its quaint Georgian shops and pubs. The golf clubs flagship 18-hole heathland course, known simply as Heath is well renowned, but taken alongside its cracking 9-holer Forest course, Woodbridge really is a delightful place to spend a day playing golf “ -

If we just post photos of Sunny Summer’s evenings, perhaps we can pretend it’s not as miserable as it is outside right? ☔️

This was taken a few weeks ago over at Newton Green, Suffolk.

The village green has been home to golf since 1907. In exchange for the villagers allowing golf on the green and for the local pub to double up as a clubhouse, the golf club paid for the privilege by issuing each house with a bag of coal every Christmas 🎄

📍 Bury St Edmunds Golf Club, Suffolk.

“ Our 18-hole championship course often hosts regional competitions by virtue of the test of golf, all year round playability and our commitment to maintaining the high quality of the course. Indeed, as a member-owned club all ‘profits’ get re-invested back into the courses and facilities, and we have an on-going programme of course and club improvements. “

📍Woodhall Spa Golf, Lincolnshire

For more than a century, golf travellers have been welcomed to this exquisite heathland course, famous for it’s natural, dramatic bunkering and distinct tactical challenge.

The course was built on a sandy tract of land to the north of the village and has classic heathland characteristics. Such is the importance of the surroundings, Natural England declared the course a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is a wonderful example of how golf and nature can benefit each other.

Happy Open Championship day! ⛳️ 🎉

Completely redeveloped for the 2020 season, 'Litte Eye' is a classic example of a par 3 that does not require great length to make it an interesting hole. A newly constructed green is elevated and set into the sand dunes with great views of the Dee Estuary with severe run offs on three sides. This hole is named after one of the islands that can be seen from the green will make a fabulous 17th for the Open Championship.

Rainy days on the links ⛳️ 🌧️

📍 Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Southport

Following this week announcement that is returning to the historic links of in 2026, I couldn’t help sharing another snap from our visit.

" Royal Birkdale is a world class championship venue and its outstanding links will once again provide the world's best men's professional golfers with a tough but fair test of their talents and capabilities as they compete for the Claret Jug “

📍The Brabazon, Belfry Hotel & Resort.

“ The majestic fairways and carpet-smooth greens of The Brabazon form a world-famous stage on which some of golf’s most exhilarating dramas have played out. Its meticulous design involves tight fairways, perilous bunkers, lakes and fast undulating greens that have challenged some of golf’s greatest players.

As you’d expect, it’s a challenging golf course, but a must-play for anyone who’s serious about the sport. Walk in the footsteps of golfing legends – Seve’s historic drive onto the 10th green, Sam Torrance’s famous putt that won the 1985 Ryder Cup match for the European Team or Christie O’Connor Jr’s belligerent 2 iron across the lake at the 18th. More recent changes have seen the 6th hole become one of the most demanding, rated highly by modern-day great Lee Westwood. “

📍 Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, Suffolk.

“ Founded in 1880, making it one of the oldest Golf Clubs in England.

One of our first professionals was Willie Fernie, who was the British Open Champion in 1883 and went on to be the longest serving Professional at Royal Troon.

The Martello course is named after the Martello Tower, which sits proudly alongside the 17th green. The Tower, which served as the Clubhouse for the first four years, dates back to Napoleonic times and is a unique feature of the course.

Views across the Deben Estuary feature Bawdsey Manor, where Radar was invented in the 1940's. The Bawdsey Gold Medal, presented to the Club upon its formation in 1880, is one of the oldest trophies in England and is still keenly competed for each summer.

In 1948 the course was redesigned by 3 times Open Champion Henry Cotton and Sir Guy Campbell.

In 2018 the Club was awarded England Golf's prestigious award of 'Championship Venue of the Year 2017' after successfully hosting the English Women's County Finals. “
