Twenty years of Big Fish Photography… 😳🐟

I genuinely can’t believe it’s been 20 years this month. How did that even happen?

When I started, digital cameras were only just beginning to appear on the market, and my very first wedding was photographed on film. It’s lovely to see film finding its way back into the frame again.

I can’t work out the exact numbers now, but I reckon I’ve photographed over 600 weddings and around 36,000 people—and that’s not including all the commercial work, portraits and events along the way.

What still makes me love this job, after all these years, is exactly the same thing that made me fall in love with it in the first place: people’s reactions. The laughter, the tears, the hugs, and the genuine joy of being surrounded by friends and family. Being trusted to capture those moments is something I’ll never take for granted.

To celebrate 20 years, here are 20 photographs from Chanel & Danny’s wedding back in May. For me, they perfectly sum up everything I love about this job.

Thank you to every single person who has trusted me with their memories over the last two decades. Here’s to the next chapter.

As a wedding photographer, I love capturing the in-between moments with your kiddies—the cuddles, giggles, hand-holding, little adventures, and all the genuine interactions that happen naturally. Rather than expecting them to pose perfectly, I let them be themselves, so they can enjoy the day while I document those beautiful, authentic moments.

As parents, it’s also important to have realistic expectations. Weddings are long, exciting days, and little ones get tired, hungry, overwhelmed, or simply want to play—and that’s absolutely okay. They don’t need to be in every single photograph for your gallery to tell the story of your day.

Megan and Marcus were the perfect example of this. They let their little ones play, explore, laugh, cuddle, and even sleep when they needed to. There was no pressure, just love, patience, and plenty of real moments. Those are the memories that mean the most, and they’re the ones you’ll treasure forever.

Huge congratulations to Matt & Frankie, who tied the knot at Easton Grange in the most gorgeous sunshine with the loveliest outdoor ceremony. The whole day had such a relaxed, chilled vibe, and those beautiful pops of colour made everything look incredible.

It was also so lovely to work alongside again – it’s been far too long!

Such a fun day celebrating with the best people. Wishing Matt & Frankie a lifetime of happiness together!

A couple of weeks ago I had the most gorgeous family portrait session in Walberswick. I absolutely love photographing families at the beginning of their journey with little ones, capturing their unique personalities and those precious moments that pass by so quickly.

The light was simply stunning, and this has to be one of my favourite spots to shoot and just soak it all in.
