Yesterday I visited St Mary’s church in Huntingfield. It’s the place where my grandparents Florence and Albert Allard married, many moons ago.
It is an inspiring space. The ceiling is drenched in colour, the artist Mildred Holland the rectors wife took it upon herself to design and paint her unique vision, from scaffolding while lying on her back(!) around 150 years ago.
I too assumed that position at ground level to try and show the entire brilliance of her creation.

Today I was given the opportunity to photograph some bee hives thanks to Annette Rolston (and taking the pic of us at work) for arranging such a fascinating visit and to Rosina and Pam for being so generous with their time

The field was slightly shrouded by the tree but the evening sun crept through. Two different photos and of course different edits. I’m feeling the first more solitary shot but the second is warmer and the mood has shifted

So pleased to be a part of the Being Woman exhibition with 26 other amazing artists. I have created some body fragments and expressive trees on flint and stone for this special group show.
