Happy World Ocean Day

The ocean and sea have been a huge part of my practice over the years. I’ve spent countless hours watching them shape the shoreline and transform the landscape with the changing tides. There’s something fascinating about the rhythm of the sea and the way it influences everything around it.

Photographing the Suffolk coastline is what first sparked my love of landscapes and seascapes. It taught me to slow down, observe, and appreciate the subtle changes in light, weather, and movement. It continues to draw me back time and time again.

It’s a place of beauty, power, and constant change. We should protect it, celebrate it, and never lose our sense of wonder at what it can teach us.

It was truly magical experience when I visited Skomer Island to see the Puffins in their habitat. They are such charming and funny birds to watch as they fly in onto the cliff side, waddling around and preparing their burrows for their mate. The island itself has seen a large increase in numbers over the last year and to be one of few to witness them on that day was really amazing. I certain would like to go back and capture them again in the future. These are only a handful of images I took, there will be more coming soon.

Happy World Bee Day

Humans and bees, it’s not just about the honey. There is a symbiotic relationship between all species of bees and humans. The world around us wouldn’t be the same without them. If it weren’t for these little winged insects, the food we eat and the flowers we marvel over wouldn’t flourish. Ultimately, the world would be a lot less colourful.

The population of these pollinators is declining, we as humans can support bees in their colonies within the habitat of a hive and in our gardens, by planting and cultivating plants and wild flowers and not using pesticides as they harm the bees.

I’ve had the privilege, to help with working around bee hives and extracting of honey over the last few years. The opportunity to capture the small world of bees, the extraction process and the bees at work was one that couldn’t be miss.
