"I have skateboarded for as long as I can remember. I had my son, who was interested so I taught him, and then his friends, and then their school and then it went from there. Once the schools knew about it, then suddenly I had a job teaching skateboarding, which is not anything I planned!”

Back in 2019, we were able to speak with John Cattle on his experience in creating his Island-based business, John Cattle's Skateboarding Club which continues to teach both young and old to skateboard, plus the development of his own skateboarding brand Wight Trash where you can still buy all things skateboards. It was rad.

Make sure to follow us, because Season 2 of the Isle Create Project, a collaboration with Creative Island, is coming soon.

"What point of your career are you most proud of?"

Empire Sound (was Studio Humbug in 2019) is a boutique recording studio on the Isle of Wight, owned and operated by Musicians/Producers . Rob & Jim (aka Boe Weaver) are a production, mixing, and songwriting duo based in the UK. Alongside their production work, they’ve made several albums as artists and continue to write both for sync and library.

Extremely well respected both on the Island and within the music industry on the world-wide stage, in this clip that we filmed in 2019, we see an insight into how and why Empire Sound has been set up and how the brothers came to find themselves working within the music industry.

Rob says “I chose this because, to keep myself in music… To be behind the glass, and help make music for other people, fits what I do perfectly."

We’re excited to show you what’s next. Season 2, a collaboration with coming soon.
