Here’s some of my favourite on-stage pics from the two-day Creative Cities Convention, held in Liverpool last month! It was my second year as event photographer and I loved every minute!

You may recognise a few of the faces, including Jimmy McGovern, Craig Cash, Phil Redmond and many more talented folk who dedicate their careers to entertainment, innovation and educating their viewers.

Massive thanks to for having me back :)

Earlier this year I was commissioned by to take 20
portraits for Faces of Bradford 2025, celebrating individuals and groups who were nominated for the part they played in an extraordinary year of being City of Culture. I’m going to post a few of these images over the next week or two, and here’s one of the first I took, of Dipack Mistry who is widely known as a Bradford legend. He’s a DJ and presenter who also supports grassroots creativity in the city. This was probably the second photo I took, he came in with loads of energy and charm and we stopped after 20 seconds, but we took a load more before realising this one was the one. A lovely person to meet and capture on camera :)

A few weeks ago, I had the honour of photographing for the second time, in Liverpool, and the surprise guest on the last day was one of my personal heroes, Craig Cash, co-creator of two of my favourite comedies, Royle Family and Early Doors. I had the chance to tell him how much I admired his work (the word ‘legend’ popped out of my mouth) before taking these photos of him being interviewed after his talk. He came over as a genuine, humble, warm and lovely person. It’s really the best part of the job when you meet a personal hero and they turn out to be as nice as you could have imagined they were

NEW: Furaha Mussanzi is a singer, songwriter and storyteller originally from DR Congo passionate about using music and storytelling to bring hope and healing.

Furaha came to 22 years ago as a refugee fleeing the war with her family and completed her Master’s degree in African Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Bradford 10 years ago.

Currently, Furaha works part-time as the Pastoral Care Leader for the Light Church and is also the Ecumenical Canon at Bradford Cathedral.

She finds joy in working as a freelance storyteller in schools running workshops and trainings for students and teachers on the topic of migration and peace-building but also loves her role as the deputy musical director for Bradford Friendship Choir, a music wellbeing space for asylum seekers, refugees and their friends.

It was amazing to meet her and look out for more photos soon when some of her new music is released :)
