Great Gable is named after its appearance as a pyramid from Wasdale, though it is dome-shaped from most other directions. It is one of the most popular of the Lakeland fells, and there are many different routes to the summit.

Elevation - 899 m (2,949 ft)
Prominence - 425 m (1,394 ft)
Parent peak - Scafell Pike
Coordinates - 54°28′55.2″N 3°13′8.4″W

Situated on Torver Back Common to the west of Coniston Water. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Old Man of Coniston. A small tarn, which measures around 230 by 280 feet is but five feet deep.

They operate from Bowness on Windermere, just a short walk from the centre. Parking can be taken in the adjacent Ferry Nab public car park (LA23 3JH) next to our marina at Mereside.
