Still very much a work in progress, but I decided to try a different spin on the traditional pet portrait.
This is the style Andy Warhol made famous with his pop art Marilyn Munroe screen prints.
I thought I'd try that - that's the third image - and it works but then I thought what about doing it in club colours?
So the first and second images are examples done in Rangers and Celtic colours.

Confident I've got them to work now, and if you're interested in either version you can commission one from me for just £25! That includes the initial photos, the editing and creation of the piece, printing and delivery.
I can add on names as in the first and second images or I can leave that out as in the last image. You are also welcome, and encouraged to suggest colours for the squares!

For the club colours, I've gone to the effort to get a lot of clubs hex codes for the colours they use, so the colour on the square will be the exact shade the club uses, as far as possible (printing can sometimes change colours slightly).

What think you, insta/facey hive mind? I know the cow one needs work.
I'm going to swap the yellow square for the red square in that one, which I think will balance the overall image better.
I was trying this using outlines but it just didn't seem to work quite as well.
The cow image was meant to be like the dog, in that the background square of one was the animal colour of another but I found the detail got lost in the red and blue cow so I abandoned that, making them a paler shade of a similar colour instead. I actually like these colours better anyway.
The base images are my own photos as well.
If I can get this to work properly I'll do a limited run of prints for whoever wants any.
Am also thinking of offering this as an option for pet portraits, with the customers own choice of colours, hopefully.
Tried this with nines but I don't like that as much

CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions welcome btw.
Suggestions on colours appreciated also.

This is a solitary wasp, who's name escapes me right now. They dig into old wood, leaving a huge pile of sawdust, and make their nest inside. Once they're done they lay their eggs then stuff the nest full of flies and especially hoverflies.
An interesting wee beastie who doesn't deserve to be squished.

Found this guy, let him chill in the fridge for a bit then took him outside for his glamour shots.
Putting them in the fridge makes them think it's a cold night, they go to sleep and take a good while to wake up, allowing you to get close ups like these.
I did some closer up shots of the head and the pattern of the legs, just for goggles. And a straight down from above shot cos it looks funky.
