Andromeda is our closest neighbour and will one day collide with the milky way

The Andromeda Galaxy is faint in the sky but is actually around 8 times larger than the moon from our aspect, although it is millions of light years away.

8.5hrs photographing space from home telescope! 🌌 🔭 📸

It's taken me 3 months over 5 nights due to clouds and work, but I've managed to get 8.5hours of exposure on and around the star SADR.

Using a ZWOasi 533mm camera and a Samyang 135mm lens purchased from I managed to track the sky using a EQ5 mount to capture the faint gasses in this area of the sky which are unseen by the naked eye.

I took 3hrs of images Hydrogen Alpha filter and a Oxygen III filter, then 2.5hrs using a Sulphur II filter (not 3hrs due to clouds)
