Dredging is now underway on the River Hull!

Over the next three months, silt will be removed from the river with clean water, then returned back with the silt removed offsite.

The Arctic Corsair is actually longer from Bow to stern than the River is wide in this location, so this work is vital to bring her in safely.

From this perspective, you can really see how much space she needs (top dock)

2,000.

We Just wanted to pause and say a quick thank you to the 2k of you hanging out here.

When starting UndercoverDrone, it was just a way to log flights and share some cool perspectives.

Knowing there are two thousand people who actually want to see these views pop up on their feed is incredibly cool.

No big speeches, just genuine appreciation for the support, the comments, and the shared love for our area and capturing the next moment.

The next edits are already in the works.

Looking down the River Hull, from above. Captured Looking towards the direction of North Bridge.

From this perspective, you can really see how the river needs to be dredged (starting tomorrow) before the Arctic Corsair slides into the left of the screen.

Dredging of the River Hull will commence on Thursday, the 4th of June, to allow safe access for the Arctic Corsair into this new dry berth home.

The process of emptying the silt should take around 12 weeks.

The historic North End Shipyard in Hull, where the HMS Bounty (originally named Bethia) was built in 1784, alongside its newly restored 1950s Scotch Derrick crane.

The 215-ton, 90-foot merchant vessel was constructed here by the Blaydes family before its famous Royal Navy mission. Today, the site has been transformed into a modern maritime visitor centre, featuring Hull’s last remaining Scotch Derrick crane—a 17-metre-tall industrial landmark recently painted bright yellow as a monument to the city's 20th-century shipbuilding era.

The dockyard will serve as the permanent dry-berth home for the historic Arctic Corsair trawler.
