I spent a few days in the Scottish Highlands earlier in the year photographing red squirrels. I'd never seen a red squirrel before and it certainly made up for it with them scuttling around everywhere. To have the chance to see these lovely little characters in their natural surroundings was certainly something I will never forget.

📸 Image of the Day 📸

A lovely image for today taken by Hazel Gwatkin 😃

The shot was taken on a Canon 5D Mk 3 with a Canon 28-135mm lens.

The camera settings were F3.5, 1/500 and ISO400.
In truth, they weren’t set up for this shot at all. I was kneeling down taking some photographs of toadstools and looked around to see the light falling on the trees like this. When I stood up to take another and adjust the settings the photograph just didn’t have the same impact from that angle and the sun had gone behind a cloud.

I used Photoshop filters to get the blurred effect.

I walk along this path every day with the dog and have taken so many photographs here.
