🕵‍♂️ Camelot Theme Park 🐲

Another Throwback, Explored around 10 Years ago

⚔️ Once a kingdom of knights, dragons and family adventure, this abandoned theme park now stands frozen in time. Opened in 1983, the park was built around the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, becoming one of the North West's most recognisable attractions. At its peak, thousands of visitors flocked here each year to experience its rollercoasters, live shows and medieval-themed attractions.
However, declining visitor numbers and increasing competition eventually led to the park's closure in 2012. Since then, nature has slowly reclaimed the site. Rusting rides, empty pathways and crumbling themed buildings now tell the story of a once-thriving destination that echoed with laughter and excitement.
🎢 Walking through the abandoned remains today feels like stepping into a forgotten world. The silence is broken only by the wind moving through overgrown pathways where families once queued for rides. Although many attractions have since been removed, the surviving structures continue to offer a fascinating glimpse into one of Britain's most memorable lost theme parks.
These photographs capture the eerie beauty of a place where fantasy and adventure once came to life, now left to decay as a haunting reminder of a bygone era.

🕵‍♂️ Abandoned Tyson Fury Hotel Part 1 🥊

Stepping inside this grand Victorian hotel was like walking into a forgotten chapter of British hospitality history. Opened in the late 19th century, the building welcomed generations of travellers, holidaymakers and notable guests, becoming a well-known landmark for over a century before eventually falling silent and being left to the elements.
Despite its current state of decay, traces of its former elegance remain throughout the property. Ornate architectural details, grand staircases and faded decorative features offer a glimpse into a time when the hotel stood at the heart of local social life. Years of neglect have taken their toll, but the building still retains an undeniable sense of character and history.
More recently, the hotel gained international attention after being used as a filming location for Netflix's reality series At Home with the Furys, which followed heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury and his family during his retirement from boxing in 2022. The programme, released in 2023, gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Fury family's daily lives and featured a number of locations across the North West of England.
Today, the contrast between the building's rich past and its current abandoned condition is striking. Once filled with guests, conversation and activity, it now stands as a fascinating reminder of a bygone era, slowly being reclaimed by time while preserving the stories of those who passed through its doors.

🍅 Throwback: 10 Years Ago at the Secret "Tomato" Farm! 🏢
Hard to believe it's been a whole decade since this absolutely wild explore! We crept into this abandoned office building expecting the usual urban exploration sights—peeling wallpaper, forgotten desks, and maybe some old filing cabinets. What we actually found was way more interesting.
Deep inside the derelict block, we stumbled upon a highly sophisticated, fully active... "botanical garden." Let's just say someone was really passionate about cultivating a massive crop of tomatoes. 🥗😉
Here is a breakdown of what we walked into:
The Setup: Rows upon rows of lush, vibrant "tomato" plants thriving in the middle of a decaying office floor.
The Tech: Massive, high-powered grow lights were blazing away, alongside a fully automated irrigation system working hard to keep the precious crop perfectly hydrated.
The Atmosphere: It was literally like stepping into a tropical sauna. The heat and humidity were absolutely intense from all the heavy-duty equipment running in a sealed-off room!
"Needless to say, we snapped our photos and quickly made our exit before the highly dedicated 'gardeners' returned to check on their harvest!"
Definitely one of the most memorable, bizarre, and sweatiest explores from back in the day. Check out the photos to see the secret indoor farm for yourself!

🕵‍♂️ The Buckles Inn 🍺

The Buckles Inn was a traditional roadside pub on the A64 just outside York, near Bilbrough and Askham Bryan. It was a Samuel Smith's pub known for its old-fashioned atmosphere, affordable drinks, homemade pub food, large beer garden, and family-friendly environment. The inn was popular with both locals and travellers heading into or out of York because of its convenient location and ample parking.
The pub had a reputation for friendly service and traditional pub meals such as pies, sandwiches, steaks, and Sunday lunches. Visitors often commented on its retro feel and spacious interior.
The name "Buckles" is believed to be linked to the local Buckle family, who were historically associated with the area. The building stood prominently beside the A64 and was a familiar landmark for motorists travelling between York and Tadcaster.
Unfortunately, as is tye fate with many Samuel Smith Pubs, it is now closed and appears to have been for a number of years.
There was no access, so only managed a few window shots.
