A beautiful evening at the Teatro antico di Taormina 🌋

This ancient Amphitheatre in Taormina dates back to the 3rd century BC 🤯
Originally built by the Greeks and later expanded by the Romans, this incredible location offers not just a glimpse into history, but also one of the most breathtaking views of Mount Etna and the surrounding town of Taormina!

My tip would be to visit early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds and experience the beauty of the amphitheatre in the soft, golden light.

You can buy tickets there, but I advise booking online to avoid any queues and getting a time slot you want - I booked using the website.
You can visit to look around, or they often have musical events on you can book. We watched an orchestra rehearsing for an event that evening and it was incredible to hear.

Soaking up the sunshine and view of Mount Etna, Taormina town, Gardini Naxos and the Mediterranean Sea, all from your sun lounger! Sicily is such a beautiful destination.

Could these be some of the best pool side views in the world? 🌋🛥️

Spent a lot of time here, soaking up the sun, while staring out at the STUNNING views of Mount Etna, the Mediterranean Sea, Sicilian coastline and the luxury boats docked up below.

It was a photographers dream for me lounging here, with a wine in hand, taking endless photos of the views.

Piazza IX Aprile 🔔🌸

Located in the center of Taormina town, the beautiful square is known for its breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna as well as the surrounding architecture.

The characteristic black and white paving is lined with restaurants and bustling with visitors. It’s a great place to explore, as well as stop to people watch with a drink and enjoy the ambience.

The week we were there, the Taobuk arts festival was on, so the square was taken over by a stage area and lots of builders. It was a shame from a photography point of view, however, it just meant I had to get more creative with my photos 😅.

You don’t want to miss the beautiful location on your trip to Sicily.

Day 2 evening: One of my favourite parts of visiting new locations is photographing the architecture and life of the place. For me, Taormina was one of the best for this!

Everywhere you look, there’s interesting buildings, people and beauty. I had so much fun wandering the town with my camera as day turned to night 📸
