Getting chased through the jungle by an orangutan was definitely not something I thought would ever happen!

As soon as we saw this beautiful male in the path we turned around to give him some space, and after following us for a little while he peacefully climbed up into the trees and went about his business!

The Sulawesi crested macaque, such an incredible species and one I’ve wanted to see for a long time!!

These stunning monkeys are only naturally found on the northern tip of North Sulawesi in Indonesia where there is a population of only around 4,000 left sadly.
However they were also introduced to another small island in the 1800s and due to a smaller human population the macaques have flourished there and there’s now around 100,000 of them!
