I truly enjoy all the different parts of a wedding day, but there is something special about the Bridal party preparations. There's nerves, excitement, anticipation and ultimately the overwhelming feeling of everybody in the room wanting the absolute best for the Bride on her special day. During this part of the day the supplier team work seamlessly together and come into their own. It's often a pretty confined space, we're often also pushed for time and yet somehow we manage to do what we're each there to do, mindful of each other and respectful of the part we all play, maintaining good humour and staying focused on the task at hand. I feel lucky to have met some fantastic, talented and truly lovely people through photographing weddings, it's actually one of the biggest perks of the job. Just like Soraya, who managed to work her magic in a hotel room that felt like it was 40 degrees and with a cast of thousands milling around. We wedding photographers are often quick to celebrate each other's work and that's great, it's well deserved - as is this shout out for the whole team.

Things that make me really happy: Part 1. Waking up to a review like this:

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Stephen as our civil wedding photographer, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the very beginning, Stephen was incredibly friendly and approachable, making us feel at ease during a time that can be quite stressful. His warm personality made it easy for us to relax and enjoy the process.

His flexible approach allowed us to enjoy our day without the pressure of the clock.

We reached out to Stephen on fairly short notice, but he was more than happy to accommodate us. Despite the last-minute arrangements, he even traveled an hour out of his way to meet with us beforehand. This pre-wedding meeting was invaluable- Stephen's calm and patient demeanor put us at ease, and we were able to discuss our vision and preferences in detail.

Stephen's organisation skills also impressed us. He had a list of group pictures ready to go before the big day, which helped everything run smoothly. During the shoot, Stephen didn't force us into stiff poses or make us do anything that felt unnatural. Instead, he captured us as we are, which made for some beautifully candid shots. His ability to make us feel comfortable resulted in natural, authentic photos that truly reflect our personalities.

Stephen captured every moment of our special day, and the quick turnaround time was the cherry on top.

The quality of Stephen's work is simply amazing. The photos are stunning, capturing the essence of our day perfectly. We had a fantastic experience with Stephen and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of a wedding photographer. His professionalism, talent, and genuine care for his clients make him an absolute gem in the world of wedding photography!

I love what I do and its the absolute best feeling to know that my clients are loving it too. Being trusted to capture the most important day of your lives in pictures is not something I take lightly and I take enormous pride in being trusted by my couples to take on this responsibility for them. Her name is Noelle, I had a dream about her..... if you're planning an epic wedding dancefloor and your guests might just be willing to unleash their inner teenage dirt bags then I guarantee not to miss a thing. When all the emotion and joy of the day gets unleashed in the final crazy hours of singing and dancing at the end of the night you'll find me right in the middle of it, making sure your wedding photo's keep your memories of the WHOLE day alive. This was one of the most important parts of the day for Holly & David and their guests definitely didn't let them down

I do love a black and white confetti shot - it might sound counter intuitive; confetti is usually colourful after all, but when you take away the colour and just focus on the light and the shadow, all the distractions are removed and you're left with everything about the moment. I like colour ones too, but black & whites are just, I think, a bit special. Are you with me or is it all about colour for you? Here's the lovely Niall and Georgina at the fabulous Hundred House in Norton. They seem to agree as this is one of the very first images they downloaded from their gallery

More proof, if it were needed, that a wedding day really is the ultimate expression of life; two lives joining together and committing to stay together, forever, on the same path. The impacts of real and every day life are never far away and often bring their presence to bear on wedding days. So it was for Jenni and Guy, their beautiful daughter entering the world a few weeks earlier than expected and just days before their wedding. A massive thankyou to the staff at Hereford Hospital for so generously allowing this to happen. It was incredibly important to Jenni and Guy that their entire family played a part in their wedding day, particuarly the most recent addition. I would be fibbing if I pretended not to have watery eyes for this one; thankyou for the absolute privilege of being asked to capture these truly once in a lifetime moments for you all.

Always an important day, a wedding day represents many things and means something different and personal to everybody. As a celebration of life, it's almost unmatched in my book; two lives join together and pledge to remain that way for ever. In this case, three lives; although you can't see Bethan & Phil's son Alfie, his impact on the day can be clearly seen. Real life has a way of imposing itself and trying to interrupt proceedings. I asked Bethan, 'are you OK if I keep shooting while you're expressing?' 'Yes, no problem' she said, 'half of Gloucestershire has seen my b***s over the last few months!' Well what a brilliant, relaxed attitude and honestly what could be more natural anyway, so the amazing , and I just carried on while Bethan carried on. We were all pretty relaxed with each other by this point and Bethan just trusted us to get on with what we needed to do. I did email and ask her if it was OK before posting this, just to make sure. But of course, 'no problem', she said.
