~CARNIVAL IS MORE THAN THE COSTUMES~

When we think of carnival, we often think of the colours, the feathers, the costumes and the performers.

But look a little closer.

There are the people watching. The people travelling from different places to experience it. The smiles, the reactions, the conversations, the moments happening between the spectacle.

Because what is a carnival without people there to witness it?

These photographs are for the audience, the people who came to experience the experience.

And somehow, in a celebration built around colour, I found myself drawn to the moments that exist beyond it.
