Want to get into film photography but not sure where to start?

At Take It Easy Lab, we run a variety of workshops and events to help you get to know your camera, try something new and connect with the local photography community. There’s plenty going on, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Here’s what’s coming up 👇

📸 Intro To Film Workshops
Curious about shooting on film? Our relaxed, hands-on workshops cover everything from using a manual camera to understanding different film stocks and camera types. You can also join a guided photo walk and get a free roll of Kodak film to get you started. No experience needed!

🎞️ Photo Socials
A friendly, informal get-together for the local photo community. Bring along your work, share what you’ve been shooting, find some inspiration or just come for a chat. Everyone’s welcome, and it’s a great way to meet people in the community.

🚶‍♂️ Photo Walks
Sometimes all you need is a reason to get out with your camera. Our regular photo walks are a chance to explore, make some photos together and meet other people who share your love of photography.

👤 Guest Workshops
We also invite local creatives to share their work, knowledge and processes through our rotating guest workshops. Up next, we’re teaming up with The Sustainable Darkroom () to explore plant-based film developing 🌱

Some highlights from our Kodak sponsored photowalk with Eat Your Greens 🎞️

We met at EYG, had a quick look through some inspiring photo books before heading out to the streets of Leeds to shoot some film kindly provided by Kodak (Kodak Professional Europe) 📸

Thanks to everyone who came out to join us! Missed this one? Not to worry, we’ll be organising more soon, just keep an eye out! 🤝✨

You may have noticed the website starting to look a little different 👀

We’ve been busy behind the scenes giving it a proper refresh, with lots of exciting new features added along the way. We wanted to make ordering from us as easy and seamless as possible, so we’ve made a few changes to help make the whole process a little clearer and simpler.

There are new films stocked, upcoming Guest Workshops, our new film directory (very excited about that one), and a few little extras to poke around with too.

We’ve put together a little tour of what’s new in the slides, but there’s even more to find on the website. Have a look via the link in our bio and let us know what you think ✨

If you want to take your photography more seriously we’re here to help ❤️

We have developed a range of workshops focusing on how to start out making pictures, build projects and develop your practice as a photographer 📸

In this season of workshops we aim to support your photographic practice and give you tools to create work, build projects and expand your thinking around photography 🧠

How do i creatively use a camera? Why do we make pictures? What is my subject? Where does my work sit within photography? How do i make a project? All of these questions and more we will covered during our sessions 📚

“These photos were shot in the mountains surrounding Denver, Colorado. Most were taken on the trail from Brainard Lake to Isabelle Lake, at over 10,000 feet above sea level. Being able to see a moose in the wild was definitely worth the 6am start.”

A little pricing update from us.

Due to an increase in our running costs, we’ve had to make a small increase to some of our prices. We’ve kept this as minimal as we can while making sure we can keep doing what we do and providing the same quality of service.

We know that any price increase isn’t particularly exciting, so we wanted to do something to say a proper thank you for continuing to support us.

For the whole of October, we’re giving you double loyalty points on every order!

That means every roll you send our way throughout the month will earn you TWICE the usual loyalty points, giving you a little something extra back on your orders.

The updated prices are now live on our website, and double points will be added automatically to all orders placed throughout October. Thanks so much for supporting your local film lab and sticking with us 💛

This October, join local artist Zoe Boswell for a hands-on workshop exploring what you can do with film photographs beyond the print 🪡🧵

Learn to stitch directly onto photographs, adding detail, contrast, texture or a new direction to your images. All abilities are welcome, with materials provided but feel free to bring your own photographs, negatives or prints to work with if you’d like!

Here at Take It Easy Lab we want to support and celebrate the local creative community by providing a space to run workshops, share their skills and connect. That’s why we’ve started our new ‘Guest Workshops’ series, inviting local artists and creatives into the lab to share their work, skills and ideas.

We’re really excited to kick things off with Zoe!
