It’s been a while since I have posted anything on here, taking a break from social media.
I’ve still got plenty to share with you all and from 2021 but I also can’t wait to meet you all in 2022!!

Did anyone make any resolutions?

Mine is to not stress about being late for the small stuff! (Not weddings 😂). We are always taught from the youngest of ages that being late is the worst! It’s not ok. So anytime you are running late, it just creates added pressure, more stress, unnecessary arguments, angrier driving etc etc. so, if I’m late, I’m late (again, not for wedding 🤣 for your day, I’ll be early)

It’s a difficult habit to shake, but we will see. Happy new year all!

Love a cold, autumn Sunday morning, although, I was up super early today and decided to watch ‘the guilty’ with Jake Gyllenhaal whilst the house was quiet. In hindsight, Probably a little too suspenseful for an early morning watch.

So this summer went fast! Super tired working weekends and weekdays throughout and I shot my last wedding of this year this week. Strange that I already miss it!

I have had such an amazing year, meeting new people, being honoured to share and hear their stories. I have heard some hilarious sp*eches, literally laughed out loud to many. I have shared a tear with a one or two and even joined in on the dancing at another... I’m not a dancer, but if you are pulled in, you can’t say no!

Congratulations again to all my couples, thanks for your kindness, your amazing words, the food 🤤and just being genuine and fun!

Walking down the stairs is proving to be the most difficult, crawling up them isn’t too bad though!😜

// Wales

What a day! Early start (for me) amazing commute through the wales roads, I think it is literally my favourite place! Slight detour to say Hi 🙋🏻‍♂️ to my favourite peak, Tryfan, sat and stared at if for a good 30 minutes with a coffee and Brioche and on to see Hana and James as well as their family and Friends too of course, who were just magic!

Love it, glad to be there, can’t wait to share pics and have a chat :)

Also, breaking news, I tried Quiche for the first time today! Homemade it was, which I was told is key to a good quiche! Think it may just be a new food favourite. Where have you been all my life 😂

I continue to battle with my silly childhood food phobias. Interesting fact, I didn’t like raisins as kid, horrible things I thought. Until I tried them as an adult and actually love them, yet still, if there are things on a menu with raisins in, it will never be chosen! I’m weird! I know! Plain scones all the way for me, sue me 😂.

// Pressure

It’s all part of the day, and it’s a rollercoaster of emotion and pinching points that just have to be nailed. You miss it, it’s gone, no second chances, no redo of walking down the isle or confetti shot.

There are many ways to deal with it, communication, planning , practice, experience etc etc (the high sp*ed shutter can help too ;) )

On Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting for Kris and Jo, Jo being a fellow wedding photographer, so added pressure much! Had such a great day, despite the rain which only decided let up after the sun said goodnight!!

// Golden hour

You gotta love a golden hour pic!

The light on your day will literally vary from minute to minute. The weather too! It could be raining one moment and then glorious the next! I feel like this year I could apply for a BBC weather reporting position (I’m sure I’d give a more accurate reading)

Whilst running up and down to be in the right position, in continuous attention mode, I’ll also be assessing the lighting and weather to choose that right moment to grab those ‘just you two’ pics!

Wedding photography is much more than just point and click.
