It's dahlia season! And they make a wonderful photography backdrop 🥰

As we transition from summer to autumn, September really is such a great time for outdoor sessions! It's still pretty warm, the ground is still dry and the sunsets are earlier, making it easier to schedule the sessions without interrupting children's bedtime schedules. It's still lush, with lots of flowers but first of autumn colours are making an appearance as well. Honestly, if you told yourself you'd arrange a family shoot this year but haven't done it, now is the time to finally do it!

And if you're like me and love dahlias, they should be around until the end of October, maybe longer, so there's still time to book in 😊

In the world of AI generated portraits and perfectly curated & polished Instagram feeds, I think that more and more of us seek something more real and raw. Perfect in its imperfection. Especially when it comes to documenting one's family ❤️

No stiff poses and bribing your children to sit still and smile for the camera. No pressure for them to "behave". Just your family spending time together while I quietly document the moments that matter most.

As August is drawing to an end, I feel a bit sad that summer will be over soon..but I'm also really looking forward to autumn 😅🍂 Let's just hope it's a good season for outdoor sessions 😊

Family sessions don't have to be stiff or boring. Storytelling sessions are all about capturing the real moments and connections, with me simply following along on another little family adventure. There is no pressure for perfect poses and smiles. All you have to do is be yourselves and have fun ❤️

I've spent half of last week photographing families during golden hour and enjoying the summer weather. Can't believe how different today feels to last week 😅 But there's still plenty of time for outdoor sessions, with gorgeous autumn colours already making first shy appearances 🍂
