Orange Fox Studios Video storytellers and filmmakers on a mission to banish bland and boring video communcations...one We encourage our clients to remove it from their vocabulary.

At Orange Fox, the word ‘boring’ has been banished to the fiery depths of hell. We challenge our business partners to think differently as we believe the secret to good video storytelling is authenticity. The best marketing adverts don’t sell you a product or a service, they make you feel something. Laughter. Tears. Excitement. As video storytellers, it's our job to help customers understand a com

pany’s values through useful, original or unique video content. Authenticity makes for memorable messages and more impactful communications. They touch your audience on an emotional level. That’s the difference between generic ‘content’ and a thoughtful piece of video storytelling. Video should always have a purpose and bring value to your customer, whether through laughter, practical advice or creative insights. Customers look to you for education, entertainment and excitement, and your ultimate goal is engagement. Humans have been telling stories for thousands of years, from cave walls right through to Netflix. It works because it’s embedded in our nature to connect through story. This makes storytelling a fantastic way to foster a connection between a business and its audience on a personal level. Orange Fox was founded in 2016 by Lee Tomes. Lee is a multi-disciplined and award-winning filmmaker and video producer based in Leicestershire. He holds an MA in filmmaking from the University of Goldsmiths and cut his teeth as a video editor at one of the top branded communications companies in the UK. He has been helping large companies, creative agencies, SME businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations share their stories through film and video production for a decade. Orange Fox has a grown into fluid, full service visual communications agency based in Leicester’s cultural quarter. Our strong network of creative talent includes cinematographers, animators, video editors and design experts means we can tailor-make the team that suits your brief.

Video workshops don’t create content.
Teams do. 🎥

We ran a video workshop with the marketing team with one clear goal: to give them the structure, skills, and confidence to record video themselves — and actually use it well.

Since then, the difference has been clear:

✅ Cleaner visuals
✅ Greater consistency
✅ A stronger on-camera presence

They’ve done the work.

Our role wasn’t to churn out content for them — it was to remove the guesswork and help them build a repeatable, in-house approach to video.

That’s what our workshops are designed to do:
empower teams to create better video long after the session ends.

If you’re looking to upskill your team around video (and make it stick), let’s talk.

This is the bit people don’t see — but it’s where the film is really made.

How much thought do you give to colour grading when planning a video? 🤔

Most people notice colour grading — but it’s often treated as a final polish, rather than a creative decision.

In reality, good grading is about clarity and consistency.

It helps:

✅Create a recognisable visual style
✅Keep people, places, and environments feeling part of the same world
✅Ensure footage feels intentional, not accidental

A considered grade brings balance and cohesion across very different shots — whether that’s interviews, environments, or real-world action.

It’s one of those post-production choices that quietly does a lot of heavy lifting, helping a brand feel unified and confident on screen.

These before-and-after frames show how much difference that final step can make.

When you’re planning your next video, is colour grading part of the plan — or something left until the end?

Flashback to 2018.

10 days filming.
30+ short training films.

Hard hats, hi-vis, cold fingers — and a lot of graft.

But also a lot of laughs, problem-solving on the fly, and genuinely great people to work with at

One of those projects that reminds you why we do this in the first place.
Turn up. Figure it out. Tell the story properly.

Tonnes of work.
Tonnes of fun.
Still proud of this one.

This is Orange Fox Director when he’s happiest.
Scripts on the table.
Good people in the room.
Ideas bouncing around before they harden into something real.
The calm before the chaos — and honestly, the best part of the job.

Big cameras don’t make great films.
But they do unlock choices.

✅Dynamic range
✅Lens character
✅Precision
✅Control

The tech isn’t the point — it’s the intent behind it.
The camera just gets out of the way so the story can do its thing.

…oh and it helps when you have a camera wizard like operating.

In 2021, we created an award-nominated short film with . The film, entitled ‘385 Days’, was a dance-for-film project influenced by Leicester’s Covid lockdown and the impact this had on everyone’s lives. Swipe to slide two for stills from the film. Here’s a rather lovely testimonial from that 2021 project.

Yesterday, we continued that creative relationship with a new shoot at a pretty cool location - Lamport Hall in Northamptonshire. See slide three. It’s great to be working with Moving Together again.

Stay tuned for more updates!
