What I witnessed outside Martin High School today was honestly disgusting for anyone to see, and I feel like I need to say something.

The staff there go out every single day to help the kids cross the road safely. They don’t have to do that, they’re not traffic wardens, they’re not road planners — they’re just trying to stop someone’s child getting hurt.

Yes, the traffic is awful. Everyone knows it. But this due to the inconsiderate places that parents park. The busses struggle to get through due to lazy parkers. Obviously more understand when the weather is like this though!

So seeing people shouting and swearing at their staff today was completely out of order. They were told to “f*** off” and called things like “four-eyed c***,” in front of young school children.

Appalling behaviour from adults.
If people are that angry about the traffic, then take it up with the local authority. Send an email. Make a complaint. Do literally anything other than screaming abuse at school staff who can’t change the situation even if they wanted to.

The poor teachers didn’t deserve that at all. Stood out in the rain being abused by idiotic drivers.

They’re there to help, not to be blamed for something they have no control over. As someone who witnessed it, I just want it on record that the behaviour of certain members of the public today was completely unacceptable and they should think about how embarrassing they look when acting this way.

Rant over. And thank you to Martins staff for doing this every day 👏
