We need your support! 🤗🎟🍿
Phoenix is a charity that has been at the heart of Leicester's cultural scene for 60 years. Starting as Phoenix Theatre on Upper Brown Street, we moved to the Cultural Quarter in 2009 and excitingly, grew to a level where we had to expand!
Even though we're now the venue we've always dreamt of becoming, it wasn't easy getting here and COVID was hard. It's fair to say the pandemic has had a long-lasting (more so than we could have imagined) on our sector, with reports of cinemas, theatres and art venues closing down across the country.
We're not immune to this. And throw into the mix that we're now covered in scaffolding due to council-led work - it's far from ideal.
As an independent charity, we receive support from our stakeholders - Leicester City Council, Arts Council England, De Montfort University, and the BFI - with 70% of our income generated from tickets, our Café Bar, events, education and donations. But with even more cuts to funding, this is no longer enough.
So we're asking for your support.
If you love Phoenix (and we hope you do!!), you can support us by...
🎟 buying tickets
🥘 having a meal in our Café Bar
☺️ becoming a member
📽 purchasing gift vouchers
🍿 making a donation
These are challenging times and your support is vital for our survival. We hope to see you at the cinema soon!
