Peak District weddings really do have a magic all of their own.

A village hall, a ceilidh that had absolutely everyone on their feet, a walk up the hill to take in those incredible views, and somehow (despite all the forecasts) almost no rain. Well… a little bit. But not enough to stop anything.

There was laughter from start to finish, muddy shoes, rosy cheeks, and the kind of atmosphere that only happens when a whole village seems to come together to celebrate two people in love.

One of my favourite moments? The first dance! Elbow’s (and Guy Garvey himself) provided the soundtrack to a moment that had everyone quietly swaying, smiling, and feeling all the feelings.

Days like this remind me that weddings don’t need grand ballrooms or perfect weather to be unforgettable. Just good people, a beautiful place, and a whole lot of love.

What a day. Thank you Selina and Chris for having me along. 🧡

For the past two years, alongside weddings, I’ve been studying for my MA in Photography and developing a deeply personal body of work exploring motherhood, memory, family and the quiet emotional weight of everyday life.

Next week that work will be part of The Ties That Bind, a joint exhibition with the brilliant Emma Collins (.emma.collins) at Four Corners Gallery in London.

Working on this project has completely changed the way I think about photography. It’s pushed me creatively, emotionally and technically, helping me better understand what photography can do beyond simply documenting a moment. It’s taught me to slow down, look closer and find meaning in the ordinary.

Although this work sits separately from weddings, I know it has made me a better photographer in every sense. More thoughtful, more intentional and more connected to the people and stories I photograph.

It’s 2026… and brides still feel like they have to stay quiet? Not on my watch.

Do the speech.

Say the things. Tell your story. Thank your people. Make everyone laugh, cry, or both. Your wedding isn’t just something happening to you, it’s yours. Your voice deserves a place in it.

I’ve seen brides absolutely own this moment, and it’s always one of the most powerful parts of the day. Honest, emotional, a little bit shaky sometimes, but completely unforgettable.

No rules. No traditions you have to follow. Just you, standing up and being heard.

And 2026 weddings are go for me! I’m so excited to be back shooting weddings again after a mini break. And if this was anything to go by 2026 is going to be exceptional!
Emma and Nico’s wedding was a dream to photograph. Held at the stunning in Devon, it was everything you could imagine, think Jane Austen in a florists dream on a glorious summers day and you get the vibe. Just wonderful.
