Another beautiful morning here in Stirlingshire

I was out enjoying the light again this evening, hoping to make an image that could be August in my 2027 Campsie Light calendar.

With the heather in bloom now as it's mid August I thought I'd head to this location not far from home to see what I could do.

As I arrived, I saw a beautiful russet 🦌 bounding away over the moor, clearly aware of my presence.

The light was beautiful, warm and golden coming in over my shoulder. It didn't last long though with clouds coming and going from the north and the sun rapidly dropping into a bank of cloud above the mountains behind me.

I managed to make a few images before I lost the light. I think one of which I might be happy with. The main thing though is being out in nature with just the silence surrounding me and beautiful landscapes all around.

Almost total eclipse of the sun here in Scotland this evening... by cloud! 😀
Still, a beautiful place to be and a lovely picture made of the reflection on the still water with a very muted colour palette.

An absolutely stunning day for today's shoot at Dunstaffnage Castle!

We had a last minute change of plan with the event, but I decided to make the most of it and capture some nice images of the castle in the glorious sunshine.

I had done a coastal walk to the castle from Oban years ago but hadn't actually gone into the castle. It's an imposing fortress that once belonged to the Lord of the Isles.

Love a bit of Scottish History.
