"I have been musing over my spring shoots. I have some good close-ups so far, details of unfurling, of fuzzy new leaves and tiny blossoms, but I have not felt the urgency to head out with my camera the way I did in the autumn and winter. We have set off several times, only to be driven back by swarms of mosquitoes. On other trips, I was fighting sun that was too harsh and bright, and missing the soft overcast light that creates sumptuous details in cyanotype. For now, I am enjoying just being here with the landscape, the peace, the water. I don't feel stressed about not photographing. I am aiming for acceptance and rhythm, trying to work with time instead of against it, trusting my instincts."

"Great Island feels isolated and remote. The curves of the dunes are outlined by the late afternoon sun. Inland feels barren and austere. A strange huge cache of old grey pinecones beneath an old grey pine tree – eerie, for some reason. The woods are peaceful, no underbrush, just a soft carpet of needles."

This is another votive on my wall of cyanotypes of the Cape Cod landscape. There are 32 of them grouped together like a portrait gallery of the ecosystems changing through the seasons: beaches, dunes, salt and fresh water, woodland, moorland and grassland.

Here is the third video of my show at The Schoolhouse Gallery. This time it’s up close and personal with my large cyanotypes, each one made of 12 separately printed panels.

This grouping has four seasons and five ecosystems, all anchored by the central and mighty wolf oak tree.
