An Os Agostos wedding already felt like a dream venue to work in.

This Os Agostos wedding turned into something else entirely during our very first phone call. My bride I told me she’d been following my work for seven years, since I photographed a wedding where she stood as a bridesmaid for her friend. She’d made up her mind about who would photograph her own wedding long before she’d even met the man she’d marry. That kind of decision, made years ahead and never once wavering, is not something I take lightly. It’s the reason I do this job.

When I and her bridesmaid sat down afterwards and wrote me reviews I could hardly read without stopping halfway through, it felt like every quiet year of building this business had actually mattered to someone.

A Brympton House wedding always has room for a family secret or two.

This Brympton House wedding kept one right up until the very end of the night. Alina’s morning started loud, her girls in the room, music turned up too high, laughter over the top of everything. But the real surprise came hours later, when Alina slipped into her evening dress. Her mum had no idea it had been quietly rebuilt from her own wedding dress until she saw her daughter walk back out in it. I made sure I was ready with the camera the second her mum’s face changed, and that’s the only reason this moment exists at all.

As an Algarve wedding photographer, I’m always looking for ways to add a pop of iconic into a couple’s gallery.

These group shots are exactly that ✨

I saw the steps before I saw anything else, and how the tree could work into the shot too. I knew straight away that M would look editorial against that backdrop, in colour and in black and white both. Sunglasses always help with that, there’s something about them that instantly tips a portrait from sweet into editorial.

With the bridesmaids and groomsmen, I love mixing up heights, working in umbrellas where they make sense, and still leaving room for the natural moments to happen on their own. That’s the balance I’m always chasing, styled enough to feel iconic, loose enough to still feel like them.

This Os Agostos wedding in Portugal is one I’ve been waiting to drop for a while. The time is now.

From the outside ceremony space set among the trees, to the Os Agostos house working as a backdrop no matter which side we used, this wedding just kept giving. Round tables scattered under string lights, a sweetheart table just for the two of them. Guests who never really sat still once the music started. A run across the lawn that became one of my favourite frames from the whole day.

Consider this your Os Agostos wedding spam, and a fair warning that there was simply too much good to leave on the cutting room floor.

This Hamswell House wedding was full of the kind of moments that only make sense to the people who were really there. Before I’d even packed away my second camera, grandads were pulling me in for hugs and thank-yous, and the groomsmen were telling me they loved being photographed for once instead of enduring it.

There was even a pizza on the catering menu at Hamswell House named after the friend who introduced Sarah and Tristan in the first place. Those are the details that make a wedding day feel completely personal, and Hamswell House gave all of it room to happen.

The lawns are wide enough that nobody felt watched, while the walled garden and lily pond gave people quiet corners to breathe between the bigger moments. With Bath on one side and North Somerset countryside on the other, Hamswell House somehow holds both — elegant enough for a wedding day, but relaxed enough that nobody felt like they had to perform.

There was also a deeper layer to this day. Tristan’s army posting meant they were leaving for Cyprus only days later, so for many of the people there this wedding was also a goodbye. You could feel it in the hugs, in the toasts, and in the way everyone held onto each moment a little longer.

Some weddings ask you to document a day. Others ask you to hold something much harder than that.

Sarah and Tristan were leaving for Cyprus within days of getting married. Not a holiday. A move. Tristan’s army posting meant that what most couples would experience as just the beginning was, for them, also a goodbye. The last time they would be in the same room as the people they loved most, maybe for a long time.

I knew that before I arrived. And it changed how I saw everything.

I grew up with partial hearing loss, which meant I learned early that the most important things in a room are rarely the loudest. I learned to read what people carry in their posture, in the way they hold a glass, in the particular quality of a hug that lasts a beat too long. I walked into Sarah and Tristan’s wedding already watching for those things.

The day was quiet in the way that days with real weight tend to be. Not sad, not heavy on the surface. People were celebrating, glasses were raised, there was laughter. But underneath all of it there was something else. A tenderness. An awareness. The particular intimacy of a room full of people who all understand, without saying it, that this moment matters more than usual.

That is not something you can stage. You cannot manufacture that quality of feeling. You can only notice it, and stay close to it, and make sure the camera is pointed in the right direction when it surfaces.

It’s not normally about me, but as it’s my birthday week, it feels like a good time to reintroduce myself.

So, hello. I’m Becky. I’m married (a year ago today) to the most patient man I know, who has spent a decade watching me disappear into other people’s weddings, missing dinners, editing through anniversaries, and somehow never once made me feel like I owed him an apology for it. We have a dog called Maple who thinks every camera pointed her way is for her, and most days she’s not entirely wrong.

I grew up with partial hearing loss. I couldn’t always rely on what people were saying, so I learned to read what they weren’t. The shift in someone’s posture before they’ve decided to move. A hand that finally stops fidgeting. The exact second a jaw unclenches and a person stops holding themselves together and just lets go. I didn’t know it then, but that was the beginning of everything I do now. Long before I owned a camera, I already knew how to watch.

It’s a strange thing, building a business out of something that once felt like a limitation. I spent years feeling like I was missing half of every conversation. Now I spend my days noticing what most people walk straight past, the in-between moments, the ones nobody thinks to ask for, because they’re usually the ones that end up meaning the most.

I don’t always find this easy to say out loud, but I’m proud of what I’ve built. Not because of the weddings themselves, beautiful as they are, but because of what it took to get here. The hearing loss. The years of feeling like an outsider in rooms full of noise I couldn’t follow. Turning that into something I now trust completely.

So thank you, genuinely, for being here. For trusting me with your days, your families, your in-between moments. And for putting up with the quieter spells when life gets loud and Instagram gets pushed down the list.

I’m glad to be back. And I’m glad, today of all days, to actually show you the person behind the camera.

Deer Park Country House in Devon does not feel like a wedding venue. It feels like the set of a film you wish you could step into.

Eighty acres, an Italian garden, a Georgian orangery, and a treehouse for the couple to disappear to once the speeches are done. Cynee and Benedict had all of it, and somehow the house still felt like the quietest room in every photograph.

I was second photographer on this one, working alongside the brilliant Laura Vieceli 📸 , and Deer Park gave us so much to work with. The orangery windows kept turning up in the background like they’d been placed there on purpose. The walled garden did something to the light in the late afternoon that I’m still thinking about.
