They put real effort into showing up online. Writing posts, sharing insights and building a strong presence. And then completely undermine all of it with a profile photo that looks like an afterthought. I'm sure you've questioned this too whilst scrolling your feed?

Or they're not sure they'll like the results. Or, honestly, they don't feel worthy of being in a professional photo. 😢

I hear it all the time, and I get it.

But, your profile photo isn't really about you, is it? It's about making the person looking at your profile feel like they can trust you. It's a representation and an image you wish to professionally portray.

What if the content isn't the problem?

Before anyone reads a single word you've written, they've already clocked your profile photo and made a decision. It takes less than a second.

We're talking the default LinkedIn silhouette. The holiday selfie with a cocktail half-cropped out. The photo from someone's wedding in 2014 where you've been caught mid-laugh.

These aren't terrible photos but if that image says 'I haven't really thought about this,' it quietly puts a question mark over everything else you're putting out there.

And we're not just talking about what clothes to bring with you. Before a session, we plan exactly what you want to achieve with these professional photos. Who is your audience and what do you need to say to them in the images? That way we have a strong external focus, and a distraction from any nerves you may be feeling!

From the moment we meet I'm looking to see how you come across, the energy and enthusiasm you speak with, what you appear passionate about and full understand there is a layer of nerves masking all of this.
