Another beautiful portrait of Kristal at her prom

This portrait was captured using natural light to create a soft, timeless feel, with a beautifully blurred background that keeps the focus on the subject. The contrast between the vibrant greenery and the elegant black dress helps create a striking yet balanced composition.

During the editing process, I enhanced the colours, refined the lighting, and added subtle skin retouching while maintaining a natural look. Gentle sharpening around the eyes and accessories helps draw attention to the finer details without overpowering the image.

Photography is all about capturing genuine moments, and editing is about enhancing the story—not changing it.

My first photography job was capturing a prom, and it was such an incredible experience. This candid portrait is one of my favourite shots from the evening, capturing a genuine moment of laughter and joy. The warm indoor lighting, shallow depth of field, and cinematic editing work together to draw attention to the emotion in the moment, while rich contrast and subtle retouching keep the image authentic and elegant. My goal was to preserve not just how the evening looked, but how it felt. I'm so grateful for the opportunity and excited to continue growing on my photography journey—because sometimes the most memorable portraits are the ones that capture real emotion. 💚📸
